We had a beautiful meal in the bar of this hotel. It was piping hot .and very good quality. I did think turkey n ham for €13.95 was a little pricey. I've had this same meal in Dublin pubs for €10.95. The service here was amazing.always someone with a smile on their face. The decor could be updated I do think.very old feeling.but the food makes up for it.

We went out to the woodenbridge last thursday to have dinner in the Bar. Now i've been going here occasionally since i made my communion years ago and every other family occasion growing up I remember coming here. The bar's walls are covered with like all old pictures and it's interesting when your waiting on your food or wandering back from the restaurant to have a look at them and it has a warm, cosy feel about it you feel really comfortable in the surroundings. So to get down to the food; There's a good selection on the menu, you usual pub grub with that little but extra (if that makes sense). Well i had the Tiger Prawns to start I love seafood (prawns especiallly) so if they're on a menu i usual get them. They were tasty now the filo pastry was nice and crispy and they came with a huge side salad that i couldn't finish. For mains I had the I think its a boxty burger it was a huge beef burger served on like a bed of mash with onions which was can I just say delicious it's kind of like bangers and mash but burgers and mash very tasty definitely recommend people to try this. As usual I couldn't fit in a dessert but my friend got the Apple strudel and I sampled it and it had just the right amount of cinnamon in it. (the only complaint I have is that we did have to wait a bit but i'm an impatient person) The waiters/waitresses were very friendly and attentive. And as we were finishing up this group were starting to play old irish music which created a great atmosphere and suited the surroundings perfectly i thought. It's a nice kind of get away to get of of the town to the woodenbridge because it's only around ten minutes from arklow so it's a handy drive.

I have to admit when it comes to food and service im quite snobby. I have ate here quite a few times and found it to be faultless. My family are from around the area and are regular visitors for food. Genuinely the food is fab, they had a new menu since the last time i was there and as another reviewer stated it was quite extensive and very pleasing to the eye! I am just astonised at anyone who gives this place a bad review, in my opinion they are totally inexpierenced. Perhaps they should get out more often!

Had food here last weekend and it was fantastic, really tasty bar food and good value for money. I had the prawn risotto which was delicious and himself had the steak, it was cooked exactly they he wanted it so he was a happy camper. . There was a great atmosphere in the bar too and the staff were very friendly. We had to wait a few minutes to be served as it was so busy but besides that it was all good.

I have eaten here a few times and it is one of my favourite restaurants. The menu selcetion is huge, with an old fashioned style menu made from newspaper clippings, well worth having a look. The menu has a wide range from seafood to steaks to fajitas, and a kids menu with different puzzles on it to keep them quite. The staff have always been very friendly when I've been there and i can't understand the other reviewer saying otherwise.

Food is average, staff are rude, location is pleasant but would not go back there again. We were at the hotel for a wedding and stayed overnight so ate breakfast & dinner there the following day. The staff were slow to provide menus, take orders for drinks & food, got the order wrong but huffed when we mentioned it. Most annoyingly they were never friendly and we felt like we were a burden on them. I've eaten there before and found the same problems but I thought I was just fussy, but this time all 8 people in our group thought the same. Even the staff who served food & drink at the wedding were grumpy and snappy. The decor in the bar & restaurant is out dated and looks unclean rather than traditional irish. Really, really disappointed as the location is perfect for Sunday lunch.
