What a great find this restaurant is !! Two of us were out for lunch and while walking around the area came across this one. We had the full breakfast and poached egg on toasted sour dough, which was so tasty. The apple pie was "just like Mum used to make"! The only comment I have is that our tea was served a while before our food so had cooled a lot. No problem to the staff though, who provided hot water for the tea so everything was just fine. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Greystones. The locals use it a lot and everyone is so friendly.

I've been here a few times now and to my mind it is the best breakfast and lunch joint in Greystones. Simple unpretentious food served with manners. Prices are reasonable the fire burns bright and warm!

Lovely cafe in a lovely setting. The cakes and food was lovely - very well priced. My tea however was served cold which was disappointing. The staff were lovely but as it was busy they were a bit slow in service. It was nice to see them giving the dogs some water on a hot day though! :)

As a regular customer of Summerville's I chose to have a birthday celebration here and invited friends and family along - around 48 of us altogether. The staff were wonderful, looking after folk as soon as they arrived with glasses of prosecco with raspberries afloat. We had plates of delicious chicken wings, quiche, sausages in honey and mustard and sausage rolls, as well as pitta chip with hummus and salsa. It was all delicious and we had more than enough to go round. Lots of locals did not know that this is such a great venue for a private 'do' and I want to spread the word!

I highly recommend this restaurant/cafe. We often pop in for a lazy brunch on a Sunday, he gets the full Irish and I get scrambled eggs on toast with perfect morning coffee. It's a very easy relaxed place to slowly wake up over a yummy breakfast and the Sunday papers. It's also a great little spot for a cuppa and a snack during the day although the scones are a little on the small side for the price. There is a good selection of food whether for a snack, a quick energy fix or for the ravenous yet picky! The service is friendly and attentive yet they leave you alone to enjoy the food and atmosphere. Definately a favourite and one that deserves support. We keep going back.

Summerville is one of my all time favourite restaurants. Lovely cheerful staff ensure you get a friendly welcome always. The food is fresh and appetising and their daily baked scones a legend! The garden in summertime is a haven of peace and a great escape if you need it from the lively atmosphere indoors. In winter a cozy fire toasts you as you check out local artist's paintings around the walls. A friendly, casual restaurant for locals and visitors alike, and a regular haunt for weary walkers.

Had full Irish breakfast at Summervilles today, and it was spot-on. The usual items on the menu - orange juice, sausages, rashers, fried egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, jam, marmalade and coffee - but just done the way these should be done, and served with a smile. It was a pleasant, peaceful and tasty start to my day, thank you.

This is my local where I get my favourite latte and more! The staff are really friendly and the service is great - even when they are busy. I love the garden but don't like to share the good news! The food is wholesome, tasty and there is a good choice. Baking is great but I can't treat myself too often sadly. I recommend it to all our visitors and walkers and it is my favourite place for meeting people as the atmosphere is homely and it is not as noisy as most cafes.

This is a lovely place, with great food which all seems to be homemade. Great atmosphere and crazy busy which really only adds to the atmosphere. as mentioned previously by another reviewer, the coffee is a little bit of a letdown.... had a latte which i can only assume was 1 shot as it was very week. bit of a fanatic here about my coffee and was not happy with it. we had a crumble and a scone and both were absolutely divine. have been here many times and will be back many times. staff are very friendly and helpfull. i think it ties for 1st place as my favourite coffee shop. These 2 places should be the benchmark for anyone thinking of opening a coffee shop.

I visited Summervilles Cafe for the first time last Sunday afternoon. What can I say, nothing other than a little gem, hidden on a back street. It was such a pleasant escape from the pouring rain.We could sniff the warm, cosy atmosphere as well as the scent of home baking from down the street! On arriving, it was difficult to avail of a free seat but after no time we occupied the window seat. This cosy spot exudes character, taking on the charm of a quaint tearoom. The staff were very friendly and helpful! We had difficulty making a food choice as the chalkboard displayed had so many tasty offerings! We decided on the rhubarb crumble, flapjacks and lattes. The words, "like my granny used to bake...", springs to mind! We left feeling v satisfied and are looking to our next trip already!Overall,Tasty wholesome cooking, v atmospheric with extremely reasonable prices;)

This restaurant always comes up trumps. Had lunch today with friends and as usual it was absolutely delicious. Between the four of us we sampled the beef in guinness, chicken summerville, brocolli and goats cheese quiche and the spiced lentil soup and brown scone. The portions are very generous and come with two flavourfull salads. For dessert we had rhubarb crumble which was divine, yummy apple tart bursting with flavour, bakewell tart and apple and pear cake. We took great advantage of the lovely spring day and ate in the back garden which is a haven of peace and tranquility. Overall it was very good value for money and with very friendly staff a great place to visit.

The location and the traditional atmosphere are reason enough to visit. However aside from that the home cooked food is amazing. The soup and scones in particular are fantastic and the apple tart. One draw back is that the coffee isn't great. In the summer the back garden is a lovely place to sit. However Summerville is a victim of its own success in some ways. Sunday afternoons (particularly after mass) the place is bedlam at times, often running out of food and from time to time children run wild through the place. Large tables make for a cramped environment, however it all adds to the atmosphere. If you can get it on a quiet sunny afternoon, there is no where better - overall a great place.
