Shockingly slow service. Tables not cleared, not offered drinks, unfriendly staff except Kevin and Eamon who were amazing. Food was average, certainly not fitting of a 4* establishment. Poor housekeeping-numerous dead flies trapped in old cobwebs right above our table. Manager was uninterested and made light of the situation when informed.

Superb food and excellent service in a very relaxed room with lovely views. We both had steak cooked as requested and the meat was succulent. This is a well run Restuarant with lovely staff and if visiting you won't be disappointed

Had a three course meal as part of our hotel package in the Conservatory Bistro. We had read great reviews about the food so we were highly disappointed with what we got. There were surcharges on a lot of the dishes and not a lot of choice. My husbands starter was served with yesterday's lettuce & my chicken salad was swimming in chilli sauce. The main course was over cooked salmon with cabbage & mash served on a chopping board. The reason I'm scoring a 2 is because the desserts were lovely but not homemade. Unfortunately I was unable to get a sandwich as there were non on the menu, so left rather hungry.

We went there for our 30th wedding anniversary with friends. The food was really good and a nice inexpensive menu. The conservatory is a really nice place to eat. My one problem would have been with the service, while it wasn't that bad. When we went in we were give menus and then no-one came back so we had to look for someone. Then we had to ask for wine (first thing waiting staff should ask is for drinks order) When the waiter brought the wine he put it in the bucket and walked off. Are the waiting staff not trained to pour your wine to taste? I would like to commend our waiter (cannot remember his name), he was very nice and efficient. I definitely would go back as the food is really good and they just need to get a system going with taking orders and pouring wine.

We brought a friend for lunch today and decided to go upstairs for the set lunch. I couldn't praise it enough. The beautiful bright dining room with the tables covered with table cloths. It was very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was exceptional as was the service. I will definitely go back , while €27.50 is a little expensive in these recessionary times it was worth paying this price. A lovely place to bring someone for a meal.

Although there is the fancier Woodlands restaurant upstairs, we chose to dine in the Conservatory as the view is the same, and the menu had options that were not available at the Woodlands. Portion size: ample! Delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and served well. What a brilliant view of the Wicklow mountains, making for a delightful dining experience.

Stopped off here on the way back to Dublin from Wexford on Sunday afternoon. Sat in the conservatory itself which had a lovely view. Found the service to be poor. We were not approached by anyone initially after arriving and had to seek out a staff member to get menus. Again when ready to order food we had to try and get the attention of the waitress, something she seemed to take issue with. We both had the soup of the day and sandwich deal where you build your own sandwich. Neither of our sandwiches were exactly what we ordered. The soup was fine, standard. We ordered wedges which were nice but came without any dips. We had ordered coffees before the meal but were never asked if we wanted any other drinks or offered water and after bringing the food waitress was not in sight to ask. We found neither the service nor quality of food to be of the standard they should for a 4 star hotel. Disappointing

We had intended to eat in the Woodlands restaurant upstairs but it was closed that evening. However, we still had a pleasant night in the rather different atmosphere of the conservatory bar. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the food was very tasty. I tried the teriyaki beef salad while my partner had the fish starter. We both had excellent burgers for our main courses. We did feel the desserts were not up to the same standard and were somewhat lacking in flavour - I wouldn't be in a rush to try the cheesecake again. The house wine was good and reasonably priced. Overall a good experience.

Myself and my husband stayed here in April, and the food was just exceptional. Service was fabulous but I loved the food. I was impressed by my starter which was ceaser salad but fantastically served with a poached egg on top Yum yum. I had the fillet of beef and it was done to perfection. Thank you Glenview.

Tend to give carveries a wide berth, but we tipped up here on Friday lunchtime feeling really hungry and decided to give it a go - bad decision. I chose a fish pie and had it with the usual roast potatoes and mixed veg. I know it was 2pm, but I have the feeling that the food had been sitting there keeping warm for a while - the fish pie was tepid, the barely-warm roasties had that dark orangey kind of colour on one side that they get when they have been lying around for a while, the veg were not very fresh tasting or crunchy. My son had a half portion of roast beef - I don't eat meat but it looked very overcooked - not even a tinge of pink there - and the same roasties and veg. Our friend had a sandwich which was really one of those very basic sesame panini things with a wee bit of salad. Staff were very helpful and friendly and it was nice to sit outside in the sun. However, is there really any excuse for serving this quality of food? Shame because other reviewers obviously find the food in the upstairs restaurant quite good and I've had good food here at weddings.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the Glenview last weekend and had a fantastic champagne dinner in the restaurant upstairs. €45 pp for the set menu. The smoked chicken salad was amazing and the fillet of beef was beautiful if a little undercooked. Unfortunately we were far too full after the main course to have desserts!! The staff was extremely friendly and you are left alone to enjoy your meal which i really like. Highly recommended!!! Treat yourself to the Premier Jouer champagne, its to die for!

We've been going to the Glenview for the last 8 years, & no matter whether we've eaten in the restaurant upstairs or (as per last night) in the bar downstairs the food is always exceptional; the staff attentive without being on top of you & the atmosphere warm & relaxed. We've eaten there regularly on our own or with family or with friends & everyone has enjoyed their meal every time, we've never ever had a bad meal there. We can't recommend it highly enough and would encourage everyone to eat there at least once just to taste the wonderful food!
