Housed in CIE's old 'Buffet Bar', layers of renovation have been stripped away to reveal original features such as a Brazilian Mahogany parquet floor and exposed brick walls. Deep purple velvet curtains and atmospheric lighting complement the atmosphere and makes for a comfortable and relaxing dining experience.

The Ocean Bar & Grill is casual dining at its best. The standard of food is well above the usual expectation of bar food in terms of sourcing, cooking and presentation and in a smart restaurant setting. Our services team are friendly, efficient and accommodating and can talk you through the day's specials. There is a good selection of modern dishes, many available as either a starter or main course as well as specials of the day.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is perfectly situated for with plentiful parking right outside, making it an ideal spot for every type of occasion from a business lunch to a family dinner, a work function or simply a quick coffee and scone. I was here for Mother's day for food about 4 pm. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We were seated near the window which is preferable but there was a draught around our legs which could not be fixed so we had to squash up. If we had one more in the group this would have been a bit tight and uncomfortable. The service was a little scattered- no spoons with the veg bowls(which were very nice). food came to the table in stages. Overall a pleasant meal.

We booked The Ocean Bar & Grill for our Valentines night out and we were very pleased with our choice. There was a great atmosphere in the place, the service was very good and the food was excellent and very well presented. There was two marriage proposals in the time that we were there and it all added to a lovely and memorable experience. We found it good value for money, we intend to go back and we would like to compliment and thank the management and staff for a very pleasant dining experience.

THE OCEAN BAR, BRAY We went into the Ocean Bar in Bray on Saturday night. I have been here on a few occasions on our trips to Bray. It is a lovely bar. We had dropped into Platform Pizza next door. Again, we have been there before and it is very good but very busy. We decided to pop into the Ocean for a pre-dinner drink and see if we would head back into Platform later. They were all booked out but had seats free at the bar. Now, I don’t like to have dinner at the bar but I do love their pizzas so had to mull that one over over a pint. We discovered when we went into the Ocean that they as they are actually adjoined to Platform, you can actually order off the Platform menu via the bar, if they are not too busy. We decided to have a pre-dinner drink and share Ocean’s wok fried veg. These are excellent value at only 2.95 and come down on a sizzling platter. After an hour, we decided to stay in Ocean but order from Platform. We ordered the vegan spelt pizza with chargrilled veg. We had had this before and it was excellent. I have also found out since that like many establishments, Platform are now doing vegan cheese. Violife cheese has come onto the market. It is very affordable and tasty and melts very well and so many pizza places are now stocking it. Veganism is growing in popularity as many people who were previously vegetarian, myself included, have realised how cruel the dairy industry is, and detrimental to the environment and human health. Casein in cheese is one of the biggest promoters of cancer (The China Study by Colin Campbell). It’s great to see so many establishments now stocking vegan cheese. We ordered off the lovely pleasant barman in the Ocean and specified vegan cheese. I did think from a marketing point of view, it was very bad not to have this specified on the menu. Nowhere on the menu did it mention vegan cheese. The vegan pizza itself was also described as having pesto on it. When I checked 2 months ago upon same, I was informed that yes it was green pesto and it contained cheese. I told them it would be a good idea to take this item off the menu or to substitute with one of the many vegan pestos on the market. Our pizzas duly arrived and to our dismay, they had no cheese on them. The barman apologised and brought them back into Platform. He returned a minute later and told us that the cheese would be an extra cost. We felt this was very bad form as the error was on their part. Also, I did mention to the barman that it should be stated on the menu and if there is an extra cost, it should also be noted. Our pizza came back a minute later with cheese on top, that was only slightly melted. We told the barman that we had ordered a pizza with cheese and this little bit of unmelted cheese on the top was not what we wanted. He agreed and returned to Platform. They informed us via the barman that they would have to re-make the pizzas. Our pizzas came down a few minutes later and they were absolutely fabulous. They did not charge us any extra either. I just feel the above problem could have been avoided with proper labelling and the menu needs to change accordingly. Platform Pizza is a fabulous addition to the Bray seafront, where most of the dining is in pubs. It’s a really good pizza bar with a great buzz and this is borne out by the fact that it is booked out most of the time. The Ocean Bar is really fabulous with such friendly staff and lovely food. I think this is a great combo and I’m so delighted that vegan cheese has come to Bray. I just hope that my constructive criticism is taken into account and I look forward to returning to both The Ocean Bar and Platform Pizza.

There was 8 in our party and we got seated straight away. Had a lovely table with a view of the seafront. From the outside it doesn't look much but there has been no expense spared inside. The 2 waitress we had were so friendly & we had a good laugh with them. Nobody had a bad word to say about the food it was well presented/hot and very tasty. The desserts were very nice too; the prices weren't cheap but not mad. I look forward to my next visit.

My trio of salmons as a starter was very good and a generous portion too - especially in comparison with my husband's black pudding starter which was very small by comparison. We both had the duck - which was fine, nothing exceptional. We had to ask for more vegetables, the portions brought for two were really too small but the restaurant didn't charge for the extras brought, which was good. The restaurant has been very attractively laid out and the service was very good. Would go there again.

The restaurant itself looks great with the stripped back brick walls and big stove fire in the room. The presentation of the food is excellent and visually appealing. I had dinner here with my boyfriend, for starters he had the beef salad, some of the beef was chewy which put me off but he enjoyed it. I had the goats cheese tart which isn't really a tartlet more so puff pastry with goats cheese on top.The portion of goats cheese was small but sufficient. We both choose the rack of lamb for mains. When it arrived at the table, it looked great but when eating it, i found it lacked in flavour. Other than that I found it to be a really nice dinner and i would return, The staff were really attentive and checked on us throughout the meal, which i think is very important.

Wonderful food local! We were immediately impressed by the beautiful dining room, intimate yet large enough to create a good buzz. The decor was modern rustic. The food was outstanding, I recommend the rack of lamb. The service was attentive yet relaxed and they were extremely gracious when we were the last table to leave. I highly recommend Ocean for local, high quality food at a very reasonable price.
