Just had a beautiful meal here this evening on our way back from a weekend away. We decided to pop in to Chesters as it has recently only started serving food again & we wanted to try it. The pub reopened in 2015 having been taken over by new owners, after been closed for some time. It was very busy in the bar and the lounge and we were shown to our table in the restaurant part. Service, food, atmosphere & value for money was 10 out of 10. The food was piping hot and served with lovely mash and vegetables. My husband chose the exotic selection of ice cream for dessert which was rum & raisin/coconut/caramel crunch. It was delicious.(I had to have a taste!) I decided to have a cappuccino which came with a digestive biscuit which gets a star in my book! All I can say is we will definitely be back. Lovely menu with many lovely dishes to choose from & very friendly staff.

Went for our sunday lunch and it was delicious ! plenty of food, great atmosphere in comfortable booths, place could do with a bit of repair to some of the seats which are a bit torn. but no mistaking the food was great if only a little expensive ! Will definitely be back !

The Inn has a large lounge, function room and an attractive bar with a huge old-style open fire-place. The heat from it would warm the cockles of your heart of a cold wintry evening. After getting warmed up, we moved to one of the quieter tables at the end of the bar (away from the TV) where you can have a cosy space and enjoy the fine food here. Their food suppliers are all local and have been well known for excellent red meat dishes of steak, lamb and pork. They make their own burgers too, with numerous toppings options of bacon, egg or blue cheese. The menu is extensive and every time we're there, we try to choose something different again, but a lot of the mains are a bit pricey in the €15/€16 range for what is pub grub. Its always well prepared though, tastes very good and the blue-cheese, pear and walnut salad I had was nutrition beyond belief. My wife had the 8oz steak with salad and dauphinoise potatoes, the steak just melted in her mouth. She had the potatoes because Chester Beatty do not do proper chips. that's a big let down because they used to do really good chips, now its just crinkly fries which you'd get any day in McDonalds. So, come on Chester, get the chips out again please, but fair play, we got the potatoes instead of the fries at no extra charge. Two pints, 2 wines and our bill was just about €45.

Had Sunday lunch here with my husband, mother & 2 year old. We arrived at 2.30 & there was no menu food only carvery. I am not a fan of carvery but the weather was terrible so we stayed. The atmosphere was lovely big warm fire & not too crowed. The food was average very tired looking veg & pototes. Roast beef was delicious & you got plenty of it. We asked could we get fresh chips as I would not eat the pototes & the chef was lovely & put on fresh chips for us. My Mam & daughter ordered desert which took 20 min for someone to come out & tell us there was no apple pie then another 10 mins to get 1 scoop of ice cream. I ordered green tea I got the cup & teabag but no water lol. It was not expensive but would not go back to eat but would go back for a drink

I phoned to book a table in the restaurant but was told it was closed but was persuaded to come anyway and try the extensive bar menu with some specials available also on the night. Really glad we did as we were really impressed with the choice. My husband had the rack of lamb which was delicious and I had lemon sole with a lovely creamy sauce. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and served with vegetables potato and homemade chips. The service was excellent considering the place was very busy and nothing was too much trouble for the busy waitress. The price was also very impressive and if I had to be critical it would be the huge amount of food. Keep up the excellent work I will definitely be back. 5 stars all round.

This place has a lovely friendly atmosphere and the food is top quality. A huge menu is available and there was something for everyone in my family of fussy eaters. The service was excellent even though there were only 2 staff on during a very busy lunch. I would defo go back here again.

This is a lovely pub, massive warm open roaring fireplace, friendly staff. I had a lovely burger, came with real homecooked chips. Honest to goodness good quality pub grub. I would recommend it!
