We have eaten here several times and have so far had good food and satisfactory service. We didn't make a reservation (as usual). The restaurant was not particularly busy and we found a table quite close to the bar. There were 3 staff behind the bar and one girl on the floor who was chatting, to customers, perhaps to friends of hers. After a while, having received no greeting, no offer of a menu, no acknowledgement of any kind from any of the 4 staff we began to wonder if we should eat somewhere else. After a little longer, once it was clear that the staff really didn't care to stir themselves, we left.

Average food, deep friend chips & fish, above average prices for what you get. The court yard is a great space but needs a good clean. The staff were OK. Bit noisy with the noise of traffic & kids. Could do better.

I had my sons christening here on the 19th January. Absolutely terrible!! Rude and obnoxious. Completely messed up our whole day. Something we will never get back. Food that we ordered and paid for not given to our guests. Room that was booked from 2 till 6 yet being used by other guests till 2:30 and also again by 4 o'clock. Had one discussion with manager and was advised to send an email. It took three weeks for a reply, which was more upsetting than the actual day they ruined. nnShould stick to being a pub and stay away from functions. nn

Very good atmosphere and service. The food was good but I was expecting a little more for the price paid. I will go back but probably not for another evening meal.

Restaurant: The Bridge Tavern, Wicklow Town We, two adults and two children, ate at the Bridge Tavern late July. It was a Monday afternoon, and we chose from the bar menu. The menu has a good variety, the tables were clean. The service was excellent and the staff very attentive. The childrens menu was on the boring side, just the usual options - drinks or desert were not included, but I feel they should have been. The children shared a vegetable soup to start and it was presented very nicely in white tea cups. We ordered a side portion of garlic bread to share which was probably the nicest part of the lunch, and it was a nice lunch. The adults had hot sandwiches which were very tasty and well seasoned, though my pork was quite tough and very fatty as it was rolled pork belly. We had shared a portion of the 'fat' chips which were excellent. This was a very satisfactory mid-afternoon lunch, and we will definitely be back. One let down was the hand dryers didn't work and there were no towels either, so we resorted to the loo roll!

We were a group of three, the week before Christmas - we were resticted to a Christmas menu with very little choice, (3 choices for each course). Set price of €27.50 per person. Food was good, restaurant was quiet, however it was early evening. i would like to go back an sample regular menu.

Decided to try this out on the advice of friends so my self and my husband gave it a go. It was very busy and while it had a nice atmosphere you still knew you were in a putb. We enjoyed the meal but it all felt a bit rushed. The food was good as was the service. Will try it again but will just try the bar food.

I ate here with friends mid week. It was quite busy for food, but we were soon moved to a warmer table indoors. The pork belly starter was divine, filling - but gorgeous. The lamb shank was meltingly good, however the vegetables it came with had certainly been under the lamps too long and were quite dried out. The dauphinoise potatoes were deliciously creamy. The house wine was lovely, however there wasn't a waitress to be seen once we'd been served the main course so we didn't order a second bottle in the end. The could do with an extra waitress mid week, certainly for the summer season anyway. I'll definitely be back, but I think they could do with some light bites options for those not looking for a full dinner.

Lovely new place to eat in wicklow town, nice airy restaurant, fab tables at the side overlooking the river, be nice for lunch on a sunny day! was a bit disappointed there wasnt a vegetarian option for main couse and only 1 choice for starter, which i had to have as a main course !! the dauphanoise potatoes were lovely. Friend had lamb shank and was very happy with it. Chocolate brownie for dessert - could have done with heating up was very heavy - overall nice meal, pity about lack of selection but will defo try it again !

I dined here last Friday with my wife - owing to the nice weather, we ate outdoors, in the courtyard area. I had the Surf N Turf, which was delicious - a definite winner of a dish. My wife had the Caesar's Salad, which was different, in terms of presentation, but equally as rewarding in terms of flavour and taste. This is my third time eating at The Bridge since it reopened, and I am very impressed - well worth it!
