Ate lunch in the bar, ordered dish of the day which was described as monkfish with a pea risotto. Portion size was tiny so had to order chips on the side. about 10 chunky fries arrived at a cost of eu4.00 !!! Monkfish was ok, Risotto was not, completely under seasoned. I'm not sure even if arborio rice had been used. Portion sizes reflect an attempt to deliver fine cuisine but this fails miserably when the taste levels are zero. Have eaten here before and it has been reasonable, today was not and not for the price. Lunch menu needs to be expanded with more choice.

Its a struggle to find a fault! We have eaten in the restaurant and I think its the best steak we have ever had certainly in Wicklow, the staff just couldnt be nicer I love that they are employing local people. We have also eaten in the bar for lunch basic sandwiches, soups, chips etc and again its just so good sometimes a bit hard to find a table and little direction when you go but that is really the only fault I could find, afternoon tea a must!

This is a lovely spot for Sunday lunch and the numbers there showed we aren't alone. Service is standout - very friendly and happy to oblige - not a stuffy place to go at all. My husband had the seafood chowder, delicious. I had the smoked salmon with avocado salsa - it was good too but I was wondering if the salmon had been previously frozen - it was a bit pale. We both had the roast beef, very good and my portion brought rare as asked. Small quibble - the vegetables were very good, al dente but the mini-carrots looked as if they could do with a bit of a scrub. For value, this dinner is hard to beat and it's a real pleasure to read the Sunday papers with a coffee afterwards in the lounge or lobby area.

Lovely surroundings and the open fires were gorgeous. We had lunch here and really enjoyed it. I started with potato and leek soup, had chicken Kiev for main course and finished with a creme brulee (a little fridge cold but still good). Two others tried the cod (small portion) and the sirlon of beef (huge piece) and declared themselves happy too. We would certainly come again.

Absolutely dreadful. Two for the price of one and I still felt robbed with the quality of food, food portion sizes and the level of service. Steer well clear Nice hotel though

We stayed over here on Saturday and had such a lovely time. The dinner was excellent. We ordered from the set menu & to start I had the asparagus salad (without the egg!) and it was very good, with plenty of asparagus. For my main I had the steak & it was cooked to perfection, a huge piece (could barely finish it!) and the veg and potatoes were very good. The service was excellent, the staff lovely and friendly & the room itself was beautiful. We can't wait to go back.

This restaurant is situated in a magnificent Victorian property set in extensive grounds which are lovely to stroll around in after your food. We went here for Sunday lunch. The service was impeccable and the dining room pleasant. The menu was interesting, varied, and seasonal, while the food was very tasty, fresh, and well presented. Although there was no vegetarian option listed on the menu for a main course, the chef had no problem accommodating me and gave me a wide choice of dishes to choose from which was much appreciated. As well as the savory food, the deserts were delicious. Although slightly expensive, this restaurant is definitely worth it as a treat or for celebrating a special occasion. Would definitely like to visit again.

We had a very pleasent evening here with exceptional service and great food. Menu on this web site is not the current menu. Beautiful surroundings but the food is a not quite at the standard I would have expected for these prices and service. Veg to accompany main meal seemed to there just to fill you rather than to add to your meal. Irish cheese selection was very basic, all available in your local service station. I would expected some artisan cheese. Wine list was extensive with all price ranges catered for.

Excellent venue for Mother's Day lunch. Set lunch was €35 with 4 choices for starter and main course. We had soup and greek salad which were very tasty; followed by chicken breast and roast leg of lamb. The lamb was excellent, slightly pink and very tender. The accompaning veg were perfectly cooked too. Deserts were beautifully presented and our plates returned to the kitchen clean! The service was very attentive. The only negative is the restaurant is quite dark.

A truly lovely place, idyllic setting... The food, the service and the atmosphere are a real pleasure. Granted, the price is relatively high, but honestly, for a nice occasion, this place is fantastic, and I highly recommend it. A decent wine list, service with a smile, and very efficient too, superb quality of food, and the surroundings are old style, elegant and manor like.If you have a special occasion, this place would be perfect for you, or even just a romantic meal with your partner...

We stayed here at the weekend and would highly recommend this hotel as a relaxing treat! Open fires greet you in many of the reception rooms which adds to the atmosphere. The service and food at dinner was excellent. We had salad and soup for starters, and the turbot and seabass for our mains which were perfectly cooked. The choice and quality of food for breakfast were also excellent. Woud definitely go back. However, it is expensive so probably won't be back for a while!

Visited Tinakilly House last night on foot of voucher from MenuPages! Arriving to the house itself is very impressive - beautiful sweeping driveway and building. Inside our coats were taken and pre-dinner drinks served in the welcoming reception hall where a fire was lighting. Service throughout the meal was excellent. However, the dining room was a real let down - more like a dated 3 star hotel than a 4 star country house. The food was generally good but choice somewhat limited. Bread was a little stale, my scallops were served on a cold plate and the veg, although perfectly cooked were unimaginative for the prices they are charging. I will go back but they they need to revamp and refurb the dining room and menu to bring it to 21st century "Blue Book" country house standard.
