Great Food, just stoped in for some lunch while working in the area, the two guys with me still have not stoped asking when we can go back. i ordered a burger and chips...i got two home made burger balls on a bed of cheesy mash with scalions, covered in georgous gravey, absolutly great, lads had fresh hadock and chicken curry. i'd recomend this place to all my friends. it's worth a visit.

We went here on Fri evening after a bit of bad luck with another restuarant in the town. We arrived in after 9pm and asked if they were still serving. The owner and his wfe were fantastic and we were eating within 10 minutes of sitting down. I had the fish and chips and it was the tastiest, freshest cod I've had in ages. The batter was just perfect and the tartare sauce was great Fresh cut chips were the icing on the cake. Himself had ceaser salad to start followed by steak both of which he enjoyed. All main courses seemed to be around €13. We left well fed and happy and we will definitely go back.

Our visit was completely ruined by staffs continued arguing. Why do they have to share their domestics with other staff and public. The food was reasonable and well served. We did not stay as we had seen enough it is most certain we will not be back, even though the area is lovely

Just back from few days in Rathdrum and went to Jacobs Well for both breakfast and dinner yesterday. The pub itself is lovely and decor really nice, mixes both old and new styles to great effect. Breakfast was great value and filled us for the whole day. We had lovely dinner in the evening. I had fresh cod with tartare sauce and it was the freshest tasting fish I've had in any restaurant in ages. Boyfriend had the roast chicken with veg and potato gratin. Had a choc fudge cake between us for dessert and it was lovely end to our meal. Really rate the food in this place and will be returning again in a few weeks and look forward to same great food and service.

Stayed here one night with my family in law. In their advertisment they say that they have great view from all rooms but we had a room facing a wall. The owner was not very friendly - I think she was stressed out because of a big party. We agreed on breakfast at 9'oclock but when we got there she said that there wasen't breakfast before 9.30 and she gave no apologies. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. The pub was ok and so was dinner, but I guess we expected more hospitality then we got. If you just need a clean place to sleep and nothing more, this place will do the job.

The staff here are lovely, the pub is nice, clean if a little dark. The food is just awful. I have eaten here twice. Loads of sad looking vegetables, meat cooked until it crumbles, salad made mostly out of red onion and peppers, and I had a burger there that had bolognese sauce mixed through the mince before it was cooked. Go for the pints and the chraming service but not the food!

We stopped here while out for a Sunday drive. Stuck our heads round the door - packed. Lady (possibly owner/manager) came to our rescue. REALLY friendly staff. Very accomodating. Food was good. Nice variety for a Sunday "Pub Grub" menu. Super home made desserts. Good atmosphere. The locals obviously enjoy the good food.
