It was… OK. A warm, cozy atmosphere set inside a gorgeous hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. The menu was widely varied and had something for everyone on it. But the execution left me unimpressed. When I see a classic dish like seafood Mornay on the menu I immediately go for it and my son had the same. It was packed with a generous portion of excellent, fresh fish but the Mornay sauce, while tasty, was very thin and not the rich, cheesy sauce I’d known from other chefs. The end result was basically a golden-crusted bowl of very good seafood chowder that I would not have described as a Mornay if it was put in front of me without ordering it. To make matters worse, it was offered with a choice of potato and even having ordered the au gratin at quarter to six in the afternoon, by the time our entrées arrived they were sold out and instead I was given a bowl of greasy, half cooked and completely inedible chips. Our server was very attentive and quite nice but while taking our dessert orders I asked her what the dish was I’d seen coming out of the kitchen that looked like profiteroles in a parfait glass. What she brought back was the brownie sundae from the children’s menu and I am always suspect of a wait staff that does not know their menu backward and forward. Growing up in the F&B industry, I can tell you it’s not the server’s fault, it’s management that has not provided the proper training to insist wait staff be fully versed in their product. In summary, if we were actually staying at the hotel and had dinner I’d probably have been happier with the experience but we specifically went for a family dinner and frankly, I wouldn’t go back again unless I had to. And I’d probably order the salmon en croute instead.

Having stayed in this hotel previously I was looking forward to this break , and once again I could not recommend this hotel enought. All the staff are so friendly and so helpful ,we had all our meals in the hotel as the food is excellent, will definitely be going back again and considering having our wedding there even thought it is a two hour drive from our home as I love the whole package

While enjoying a great value overnight stay here with a friend we dined in the restaurant. While it is more of a bar restaurant it was still good and in general the place has a nice warm atmosphere. Staff were friendly and the food was good. We were lucky to get a table by the window with lovely views out towards the bridge, the waitress said that when available they always offer these tables first as diners love the view. On checking out the next day the girl at reception gave us two bottles of mineral water for our journey home. Nice little touch especially as we had used a voucher offer of only 55 Euro for an overnight stay for two people.

I thought this was a Restaurant. I booked it as I was going to stay in the hotel and didn't want to have to walk into town if it was a wet evening. The food was very good. The menu wasn't great but not pub grub. The problem was, it doubled as a restaurant and bar. The surroundings and seating were for a bar, not for a restaurant. Not comfortable to sit on a couch where the table is higher and you have to sit forward to eat.

Sunday lunch, their busiest time of the week the restaurant was packed and we were seated within 15 minutes. The service was efficient but the menu read like an appeal to greatness but I found particularly laughable the idea of "air dried parma ham". The service was a little hit and miss, there were too many members of staff and not all of them knew what they were doing. To start I had the spring rolls and was a little disapointed, they were very basic and distinctly unimpressive salad took up most of the plate. One of my party had a pasta starter which seemed better value and the galic mushrooms put the spring rolls to shame. For mains I had the codd on a bed of risotto with an unnessesary gratin on the side. The toilets were a little difficult to find and very dated. Overall it was quite enjoyable however it was a bit pretentious for pub grub.

Really enjoyed this. Food was lovely atmosphere was great and staff were brillant. Very relaxing and plenty of room and very reasonably prices. The crowd there said it all, seems to be very busy all day long. Sit back and relax, lovely place

This is a great restaurant, one of my favourites. I was late coming down from Dublin and said I would call down to the River Rank. Staff were very friendly and were happy to serve me dinner even though i was quite late. The chowder in this restaurant is gorgeous! I recommend coming here for the chowder alone. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed great for unwinding after a long day. Views from the windows of scenic Wexford town at night all lit up is a great backdrop. I had a sirloin steak for main course and it was cook to perfection and their pepper sauce was perfect too! Sticky toffee pud for desert was amazing! I cant wait for another one of them! Some might say the toilet facilities are a little dated, but that’s really looking for fault. Great food, great location. Highly recommend!

Had lunch with the family here on Christmas Eve, a busy time for any restaurant. The staff coped excellently with the pressure of a busy restaurant & had us seated with menus very promptly. The waiter even moved us to a bigger table between starter & mains, when it became available, by his own volition. I have eaten here on many an occasion, both for lunch & evening dinner & find both food and service top class. The food here is excellent, especially the chowder, steaks & the pasta dishes! I always enjoy my dining experience here & nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I always feel welcome upon arrival and satisfied on departure! A good complaint!

We've been here a few times now. Staff are excellent. Food is very good. Very child friendly. They have an activity page and colouring pencils for little ones. We have been here when they have been very very busy and the service has never faltered.
