I have eaten here about four times before and was always lovely. My wife and i were on a lovely day out down around the hook area of wexford and decided to go back to wexford and specifically t the emereld gardens for a meal. We said we can be assured of a nice meal here.nWe arrived around 5.30. We got a table for two i the front near the wndow. The waitress was nice and moved the table for us so we could viewthe street. Then it got bad. First we were not offerdd a wine list, just told wat wine theyhad, so we picked wine quickly. Then we ordered our food. We had to ask for the prawn crackers, they were not offered to us. Then i got a half duck but it was not good. The waiters did not ask was every thing ok. There were no side plates either. The service was poor. Ihad looked forward to the meal but it was an anticlimax. Sorry now but there you go.

Really enjoyable! They didn't have the dish I wanted on the menu (crispy chilli beef) but straightaway asked me to describe it and said the chef could do it for me. No word of a lie, it was the best crispy chilli beef I've ever had! And I've had a few. . Service was swift and the maitre ' d was exceptionally helpful with the many specific requests from our table. I'll definitely be back!

Since our first visit last November we have been back to Emerald Gardens many times including last Saturday February 23rd 2013. This restaurant just gets better and better. Professional, efficient and friendly service from each staff member and fantastic food. The sea bass fillets were perfection, served on a bed of excellently cooked and tasty stir fried vegetables .Sizzling chicken dish was also really good.Side dishes were home cooked chips and rice and were absolutely faultless. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine each - a very nice touch which we accepted gratefully. We enjoyed our night and will continue to visit this top class restaurant.

Passed by this restaurant a number of times and decided to try it as it always looks so inviting. Tables are well spaced and perfectly dressed with white crisp linen and sparkling glassware. This is a large restaurant set on 2 levels with atmospheric and subdued lighting. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table, almost immediately a bottle of chilled water and a bowl of prawn crackers were served. We declined starters and ordered duck cantonese and sizzling filet beef with black pepper sauce, both with steamed rice, a nice bottle of red completed the order. The quality of the duck and beef was excellent, cooked perfectly and the portions on the generous side, however, the cantonese sauce was too much like gravy, the black pepper sauce, on the other hand was very good - hot and peppery just as it should be. We enjoyed our meals despite the cantonese sauce and will most definitely return. The service on the night was without fault - professional, efficient and friendly. The menu did not have as many dishes as some other Chinese restaurants we have visited but there were plenty of choices nonetheless.

Popped in here for a main meal in the middle of the week. It’s quite a big restaurant, but there were very few diners there the night we visited. The menu isn’t the biggest we’ve seen, but our meal was very good. Service could have been better, but we can overlook that since the meal was so good.

This is a lovely restaurant in the heart of Wexford town. It’s big and spacious and the décor is very appealing. The menu isn’t extensive, but what was on it was good. As soon as we were seated, a bowl of prawn crackers was brought to our table. We were only having a main meal and it was delicious. Service started off well but then became a bit hit and miss, which it shouldn’t have been because the restaurant wasn’t that busy (it was a Wednesday evening - hence our very low rating for atmosphere, or lack of it!). Food portions were decent and staff pleasant. The quays are nearby for anybody wishing to go for an after-dinner stroll (which we did). We would recommend the Emerald Gardens to anyone visiting Wexford.

We always have a meal here when we go to wexford and when we arrived noticed that the restaurant had been refurbished. The menu was a choice of a short a'la carte and a set menu for €23.95. Was a bit concerned as thought maybe there had been more changes in the kitchen but it didn't dissapoint. We had the set menu with a combination platter for starters and dry chicken and duck for main and pavlova (yes, in a chinese) and icecream for dessert. The food was amazing as always. We also had 1/2 bottle of wine and a beer all for €61. Very good value. The only complaint I would have is the service is not very organised. They were busy but we had to ask for menus...

Nice chinese. We had pretty standard chinese food. The best, so far, Chinese restaurant in Wexford (although not hard!). Would go back. However, on a more general point, surely the rice comes with the meal. Why in all Wexford takeaways is this an extra price? In Dublin, rice was included with the meal.

My wife, daughter and I visited on a Sunday early evening. We were the only customers but more tables filled while we were there. The early bird menu caught our eye and was very good value. We had two early birds between the three of us and there was plenty of food. We had chicken wing and duck roll starters. These were cooked really well and were nicely spiced. The 2 mains were sizzling Szechuan chicken with fried rice and stir fried beef with noodles. Both were good but I would have preferred more spice in the beef. The beef was well flavoured with spring onion and ginger. Two desserts of Hot Fudge cake with ice cream and a beautiful light strawberry pavlova. The latter served with plenty of fresh strawberries. Coffees to finish and these were excellent. The price of food with sparkling water a beer and an orange was €57. The food was not rushed out to us and was piping hot when it arrived. Service was fine and our waitress was very pleasant. We will return.

Second visit to this restaurant was a big disappointment. It was my daughters 15th birthday so we booked a table for 5. When we arrived at the restaurant it was half full. We were seated promptly but they it all went down hill.we waited for at least 15 mins to be asked if we would like a drink this was only after I flagged down one of waiters. We then had to wait another 30 mins to have our order taken. We the food arrived most of it was grand but they got one of our parties order wrong so they had to wait 15mins to get there food. The food was all very nice and plentiful but the service was awful now it’s not as if they hadn’t enough staff there was plenty of them but they all hung around down the back of the restaurant and want very attentive to the customers. Because of this I will not be in a rush to go back.
