This is one of the best restaurants I have been too. Shane, the Manager is a gentleman, obliging and knowledgably on the fare offered. I had dinner from the early bird menu and to be honest was spoilt for choice, the Lemon Sole was magnificent, so much so, I felt I wanted it again for Breakfast the next day! Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough – enjoy.

This is one of the finest restuarants in the south east. What a menu with food excellently presented, and very tasty. Prawn cocktail to start was very good but the pan fried haddock was superb, and the portions of chunky chips and salad were very large. This is an exceptional restaurant which clearly uses quality produce. With the fresh fish sourced just 50 yards from the local pier, I suppose you cant get much better than that. It was pleasing to see that you can now purchase their sauces, and jams and brown bread to take home. They also sell oils marinades and cranberry sauce. I eat out a lot and the salty dog is one of the best in wexford. I will be back.

I could not find fault here! We were a hungry group of 6 who just happened to end up in kilmore after visiting Hook Head. We were certainly not dressed appropriately for the lush interior but there was no problem and we were looked after incredibly well throughout. We all had the early bird which was €25 for three courses. They were generous and all beautiful! We got some consume on the house to start and beautiful bread they were a real treat!! I cannot reccommend highly enough!

I ate here on a very wet night with a friend and the restaurant was very busy. We were warmly welcomed and led to a lovely table. I ordered deep fried brie and a fillet steak to follow and my friend had calamari followed by fish. The brie was really lovely but far too big a portion and a bit offputting because once cut it oozed all over the plate. A few small pieces would have been preferable instead of one huge wedge. The calamari was delicious. I ordered my steak medium to well but it was as dry as a bone and even with onions and mushrooms, there was no moisture on the plate. The accompanying chips looked lovely but were really chewy. Neither my friend or I could figure out what had gone wrong with them. On clearing our plates, the waiter did ask if everything was ok and when I mentioned the steak was dry he took it off the bill. Nice, but won't be in a rush back.

We had a lovely meal in The Silver Fox and even though it was after 4pm we were allowed to choose from the lunch menu. I had the beef and guinness pie and my husband had fish and chips both were lovely. Nice atmosphere too and they didnt seem to mind people wandering in and sitting at a table set for dinner and just ordering a coffee. I have tried other restaurnats in the area but this is the one I will go back to.

We booked quite late a table for 9 people (3 children included). There was no fuss made about having 3 children and a baby with us. The 2 smaller children shared a meal and were provided with a second plate with no question asked. We all ordered different dishes. All raving about our own dish. The black sole ordered by my husband was amazing in size and taste. He went for the medium size one and it was huge! I had the fish pie it was so tasty. My Mum only ordered a starter (the chowder) and again it was not a problem and it got serves at the same at time as our main course. It was beautifully presented in a bread (I had only seen this before in France). Dessert were also delicious. We were not rushed to leave and the staff were most friendly. We will be back!

as a chef ive always wanted to visit kilmore quay, and as expected what a gem, a busy fishing port.,,,we came across the silver fox seafood restaurent, looking trough the menu i was in my prime. full of fish starters and main courses. my partner a vegatarian had garlic bread and homemade lasagne whic she said was the best she had in a while. i had jumbo prawn and smoked salmon cocktail. i would have been happy enough with a bed of crispy iceberg lettuce as i dont like onions or peppers, i had lemon sole for main course which was of top quality with creamy mash and mixed fresh veg. what a lovely treat on a sunday afternoon. two starters two mains and one mineral all at 52euro, highly reccommended

Stopped in for the early bird on a Sunday evening, the early menu is varied and good value, we were served a pre starter soup and the bread was delicious. I had plaice and it is a while since I tasted fish so fresh, the steak was very tender and a varied child's menu also. Apple crumble was lovely and served with custard and cream, just the right temperature. The only minus was the service as a little slow at times but there was a large party there and we had an impatient child which probably influnenced my perception of that! A good place to visit if you like seafood and the meat lovers will be well catered for also.
