I was staying in Duncormick with a friend for the weekend and this is the only place to eat within walking distance. When we arrived the dining room was completely empty and remained so for the rest of the evening. The menu was confusing. We were given both a bar and a restaurant menu and decided to order from the latter. I decided on Duck but unfortunately it was off so played it safe and ordered Lasagne. I ordered stuffed mushrooms to start and my friend ordered Calamari followed by seabass. My mushrooms were abysmal. There was no flavour at all and the calamari was chewy. My friend's fish looked ok but the Lasagne was inedible. It was really horrible. I ate around the outside and left the rest. I'd advise anyone staying in Duncormick to book a Taxi and eat somewhere else.

My girlfriend’s parents have a house in Duncormick, and we go down for the odd weekend. Normally end up eating in Scavilles Lodge. Being the only eatery in the area, they could skimp on the food quality. This is not the case. Whilst the bar/restaurant itself is not the most comfortable, and it could do with some re-decoration, the food/service cannot be questioned. Good menu, with plenty of options. Decent pint on draught, very good food, friendly service, and good food presentation. Home cut chips too! Should be tried if you are in the area, and don't be put off by the bar section at the front!
