Overlooking the picturesque fishing village of Duncannon, Aldridge Lodge is a modern stone-fronted dormer house with lovely views of the beach and mountains. It was our Newcomer of the Year in 2006 and, since then, Euro-Toques chef Billy Whitty and his partner Joanne Harding have earned such a well-deserved reputation for excellent food and warm hospitality that many regular guests make a point of heading straight here when visiting the South-East.

I had heard about Aldridge House for the past 2 years from family who have holiday homes in Fethard. So couldn't wait to eat there. I arrived to the warmest welcome I had ever had in any restaurant. There was an open fire. My SILs were greeted by name. My handbag was admired. Our drink orders were taken immediately and back to us within 2 minutes. The ambiance was serene and calm but warm. I had expected olde worlde judging but the name but it is very modern. I was a little bit disappointed that being a vegetarian I could only choose from one starter and one main course. I had the goats cheese salad to start and it was just perfection. The cheese was really light and fluffy and the salad and onion marmalade worked really well with it. Teh bread was pure heaven, soda farls and brown bread, we asked could we bring some home and they had it ready for us with our bill. The main for me was the only slight let-down. I had the risotto with duck egg and my problem was that the rice was too "al dente". For dessert myself and SIL had the platter for 2 and boy were we glad. It was amazing, almost an entire portion of every dessert - there would have been enough for the 4 of us on the platter. I can recommend the Eton Mess - we both decided that was the nicest. We had 2 bottles of prosecco and they brought a jug of creme de cassis to go with it. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. It worked out at €72 per head. Not bad for such service, ambiance and food. I will definitely be back!

WOW, €40 for a meal that any restaurant would of been envious of. Superb. Definatly will go again. I'd recommend it to EVERYONE. The staff are welcoming, the hostess is very engaging, and will give great advice for different wines. And the whole experience has placed this resturant at the top of my places to eat in Ireland. Book early, cause I'd imagine they are booked out very quickly

Well deserved five stars. My wife & I stayed overnight, way back in january. Our greeting on arrival was very friendly, the standard of our bedroom was simple, but tasteful & comfortable. We began our meal with mis-en-bouche & an aperitif in the cosy bar area. The restaurant ( which makes up most of the ground floor ) is surprisingly spacious & modern in design. Delicious breads, followed by a superb dinner, served by obviously happy & enthusiastic staff. A good quality wine list, with an excellent NZ pinot noir. Breakfast the next morning was just as memorable. All the best quality local ingredients, and a delicious fruit salad with a yoghurt compote. I would note that as the building is a dormer bungalow, the bedroom was pretty cold when we went upstairs after dinner (late!). I asked for an extra blanket, which I got & 10 mins later the heating was back on. This reflected the overall attention to guest satisfaction, which is admirable. The food is exceptional, and seems to be locally sourced where possible. I have no doubt that if Aldridge Lodge was in county Cork, ith could triple it's prices & still pack them in, so much the better it's in a lovely quiet spot, just over the river from waterford. Highly reccommended.

Still one on the best restaurants I have ever been in. Food is just amazing, it's so fresh and tasty. Great selection of wines, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are great. But by far the best thing about Aldridge Lodge is that you are never rushed, there is nobody waiting on your table so you are never made feel like you have to leave as soon as you are finished your main course!!

If your ever in Wexford you have to go to this restaurant. I'm from the area and anytime I make it back down I try to make a visit, you do have to book well in advance especially for the weekends. Books out weeks ahead.I have been numerous time since it opened and I have never had any fault with the food, the service, the atmosphere, I really can't fault it. The fish is superb, it is sourced locally from the owner/chefs father. The shared platter of dessets is a must also. For food like this it is amazing value, set menu is 38 euro. You are never rushed over your meal, the staff are very welcoming. I have recommended this restaurant to many people and they keep going back. You can also stay overnight and I've heard the breakfast is great also.

As a young couple eating out we sometimes find that we are not treated the same as some of the other diners in places, however this was certainly not the case here everything was perfect from the warm greeting to the pleasant staff. The food was outstanding, and there was plenty of everything, with great value for money. I have recommended it to lots of friends and family and would defiantly recommend it to anyone looking for fine dining with value for money.

Aldrige Lodge has just become my favourite restaurant. Lovely cosy seating area to sit and have a pre dinner drink and browse over the menu. Fabulous welcome from the friendliest staff in the world. The dining area is very nice with a fire blazing. This is a top class family run restaurant in a homely cosy atmosphere. Beautiful goats cheese and pear tart to start. Venison for main was also gorgeous. Generous medley of desserts shared between a few of us. Four of us had 3 courses each plus complimentary appetizer. A few coffees and 3 bottles of wine came to €57 a head. Their set menu is €38 for 3 courses, great choice, great quality food, perfect service. You would pay a fortune for this somewhere else. It seems you must book far in advance. They also have a few bedrooms available. I will make the trip from Dublin again, stay overnight and enjoy another meal here very soon.

Still one of the stars in dining... Absolutely fantastic. 5 stars for everything, and 6 stars for value. I've been here more than half dozen times, I am still trying to find a dent/weakness. I don't feel that anyone out there can really, really complain about the fantastic job they do. Long may it continue. If you are holidaying in Wexford (or Ireland!) this place is worth the journey. Fine dining for all. * * * * *

Still as great as ever. Please, please, will you take away the pub grub comments. It is way above any pub grub, in fact it is not even a pub, but just like a family home, small and comfortable. I certainly never got any food anywhere as good as this for the price and definitely not in any pub!!!

Absolutely, one of the best restaurants in the country. The food quite simply can not be faulted and the prices are extremely cheap compared to those in Dublin.
