Staff Extremely friendly! BYOB and corkage good value @€3.95. Starters and deserts pricey enough but mains were excellent value. Food was excellent and deserts in paticular were yummy and homemade. Will certainly be returning!!

Went to dinner there on Saturday with a group of 20. When booked we were not told that the party was going to split between 2 tables we also booked it as a surprise party and confirmed twice with them that we coming and telling them it was a surprise party they still called to confirm on the day partner answered the phone and surprise ruined!! The food was poor I had muscles to start they weren't cleaned and were tiny sauce was poisoned with salt! Main was just awful spanish chicken destroyed by gravy not as described on menu. one potatoe and a few peas! husbands fish was soggy with no taste and chips werent cooked! Over all over priced muck. Jumped up pub food no where close to a bistro!

well where do i start, i am so so disgusted with myself for choosing this restaurant for a romantic meal for myself and hubbie. We were in athlone for the weekend and came across this restaurant and booked it for the friday nite at half 7. Arrived around twenty past 7, was seated immediately and menus given, menu looked lovely and we both thought well you cant go wrong with this menu! We were both very wrong. My husband got the breaded garlic mushrooms which were still frozen and were cold, i got the spicy prawn cocktail! no spice, prawns were soaking wet wit cold water and werent cleaned out. We giggled it off and said mains have to be better!! haha! No! i got the chicken stirfry which was full of celery and the sauce was a pink water disgusting, hubbies swordfish was raw as were his chips which he actually couldnt eat. Hubbie is the type that will eat it anyways. But he couldnt. Desert was fine. Went to pay and was told mains were only 10e each. but dinner still came to 68e. so 48e for 2 starters, 2 deserts and 2 drinks! Unreal. Hubbie said to manager about food and he offered us a free meal on him the next nite. Id rather chew my own hand off to put it mildly!

Dissappointed with our visit, we try and eat somehwere different every time we're out, menu definetely overpriced, prawn cocktail with 6 prawns €8.50, and not very tasty, my chicken over a miserable runny ratatouille not very appetising, as was my friends chicken fajhitas with 2 wraps, tiny portions of salsa, etc, and dessert really expensive, jelly and ice cream 6.25, come on.. since when did jelly cost that much, won't be heading back any time soon, not worth the 40 euro we paid each (with no drinks or wine)- one good thing was the staff

The food here is yummy, the staff are friendly and it's very comfortable. I've only been here as part of various groups but it seems equally suited for quiet dinners for two. The location is also excellent, right in the middle of Athlone, very near to some highly recommended pubs!
