I have never gone to a place that was so regularily mentioned as a good place to stop and been so dissapointed. This was the worst of all that pub food is. Bad seating (just about acceptably clean), cheap utensils and glasses and patcy service led to a most unpleasant stop. The chips were the only good thing. Just because you get a lot of something doesnt mean its good. This was the sort of food you expected five years ago and I for one will avoid in future.

I cannot fault with this place for food or service, and it's child friendly too. The staff are very welcoming and the service is prompt (even on a very busy saturday lunchtime). I was last here with my partner and our daughter, and I had the roast and my partner had steak and kidney pie, our daughter had chips with gravy on the side (very accomadating for children). The portions are huge - I would defy anyone to have a three course meal here!! They do a very excellent breakfast as well. Well worth a visit.
