My husband and I went to the Old House last weekend for my birthday and I can honestly say the food there is out of this world. The restaurant itself is really tastefully decorated, from the beautiful stonework, to the fireplace, to the candles on the tables. The waitress was one of the most pleasant waitresses we've ever met. The quality of the food was truly outstanding, but there was one let down. The service was a little slow. Our mains were delivered to the table and we were waiting maybe 4/5 minutes for veg and side orders. This however was the only gripe we would have, if the service had been a little quicker then I'd easily give it 5 stars. We will most definitely visit again.

I had dinner here with a group of friends back in February - we had such a lovely time. The resturant is in the basement of an old Georgian house and has a lovely atmosphere. The food was very tasty & we got a complimentary glass of bubbly as part of the deal. The bread basket was lovely & had a good selection of breads. I had the soup to start, steak for my main & apple pie for dessert- the flavour was fantastic & the portions were great. The staff were very friendly & made us feel welcome. I will be back ro dine here soon again

I had dinner here with a friend last night and I can honestly say it was the best dining experience I've had in a long time. The resturant itself is in the basement of an old Georgian house and we had a table next to an open fire. The ambiance was fab. The waitress was knowledgable about the food and venue and very attentive. The food itself was the most impressive part. We ordered 2 courses from the early bird menu which is really good value and nice sized portions. The steak was beautifully cooked to my speciifcations and all the sides were quirkily presented in mini copper pots etc. Very unusual! The dessert was one i've never tasted the likes of before. The Cappucino creme brulee was amazing. We will definitley be booking in here again. A treal treat in Mullingar.
