Loved this place! La Boheme is in a basement with vaulted ceilings and this just adds to the atmosphere. Its very romantic and a great place for date night or a special occasion. We walked in and didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night and they found a place for us. For starters we ordered a Trilogy Crab and Salmon and the Pork Belly. The Trilogy was a bit disappointing, the crab dish only tasted of cheese. The Pork Belly was tasty but the skin did taste slightly charred. For Mains we ordered the Monkfish and the Hake, both where absolutely delicious. we finished by sharing a desert I can't remember the name, but was very tasty. I would recommend this place the staff were so helpful.

We went here fro dinner on a last minute decision and we were delighted. We had been here before and wont wait as long for another visit. Dinner 36€ fro 3 courses. Pork belly and crab on toast were the starters we choose. Beautiful presentation and enticing appearance. Hake and rump of lamb , mains. The hake was delicious but the lamb was outstanding. Cooked rare as ordered and what a portion, fab veg to enhance it all. We shared a blackforest dessert ,again a real treat. We took the cheese board and were delighted we were sharing there was so much and good variety. Would highly recommend La Boheme for a real treat but go very hungry. Great flavours, presentation and not rushed

Myself and my mum went to this place as a bit of a last resort after checking TripAdvisor for the top places in the city to eat, it was the only one that was highly rated that wasn't full on short notice, probably due to the price, which was slightly higher than its competitors. We were more than pleasantly surprised with what we discovered. We arrived early and were seated beside the cosy bar where my mum ordered a gin and tonic, which she remarked was particularly nice. We were then moved into the main restaurant which had a gorgeous decor of old stone. We went for the set menu and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The staff had fantastic attention to detail. It is slightly more expensive than some of the other local restaurants but it was a bargain for the service that was delivered

Absolutely fantastic italian style dining experience. Food is beautifully presented and cooked to complete perfection. Staff are friendly, polite and very well mannered in every conceivable way. Can not recommend this place enough. Portion size just a teeny bit too small for a 6ft, 100kilo Irishman. :)

This place is amazing and certainly deserves all its awards! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the French atmosphere. Excellent service without a doubt, welcoming and charming staff. The food was divine, one of the best monk fish dished I've ever had. If you're looking for a romantic dinner, then this is it, there's no better place.

This was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I have had in Ireland. The restaurant is stunning and very atmospheric. Also very comfortable, which is nice. We availed of The Market Menu, which was 4 courses for €35. The food was excellent, wonderfully executed and presented. The Market menu offered a lot of choice, which was nice as I find many set menus can be quite short on choices. The staff were so pleasant. I really liked that we weren't rushed and invited to take our time before ordering dessert. They were also very well informed. When I ordered a Gin and Tonic I was recommended Saffron Gin and given a sample. I will be back to Waterford, possibly just to visit La Boheme.

An excellent bistro style place, honest and well cooked (and seasoned) French bistro classics. Fabulous value, I have eaten here maybe 5 times in the last 3 years and felt that I could not fault the price in any aspect. Particular memory of a cote du boef that was excellent for about E30 for two people. A Waterford benchmark and highly recommended.

I am not usually one to write a review, but the night we had at La Boheme was so amazing I felt I had to comment. There were 4 of us and we were seated straight away in the centre of the main dining room, which has a wonderful atmosphere. Staff are extremely efficient without rushing around. Despite the restaurant being very busy, we were so well looked after. Now to the food....it was so good that the fact that the menu was only €35 was shocking (in a very good way!!) The Mise en Bouche was a nice little surprise at the start. My starter was a medley of haddock creme broulé, smoked salmon and a fish mousse. Beautifully presented and extremely tasty. I had the Irish rib eye for my main, which was perfectly cooked and again, the presentation was lovely. By the time desert came around, i was so stuffed, but I had to try something because everything else had been so wonderful - I can't remember what it was called, but it was a type of apple cake. I couldn't finish it but that is no reflection on the food. A little plate of petit fours was put on our table with our tea and coffee, but despite how lovely they looked, I just wasn't able. Wine included, we paid €15 more per head for the meal than we had done for a very lacklustre menu the evening before. I would nearly drive to Waterford just to eat here again!!!

excellent as always --- the €35 menu is a steal - dinner for 2 - bottle of wine and a tip for €100 in a restaurant of this caliber is excellent!

Wow! What a treat! Absolutely fantastic food & service; you really must eat here if you're in Waterford. The Market Menu at €35 per person consists of ingredients that are sourced locally as much as possible, it offers plenty of choice, covering game, meat, fish and vegetable options. From the decor, to the music, to the menu, to the staff, to the quality of the food, to the presentation of the dishes, EVERYTHING in this restaurant is wonderful and utterly deserving your attendance.

We visited La Boheme on our trip to Waterford recently. The atmosphere is cool and calm and well, posh. Perhaps it was a tiny bit too dark in the restaurant. Service was courteous and polite and timely. Everything arrived punctually and the food was very good. I had the chicken which was very good and tasty, but I would not excellent. My friend's seabass was very lovely indeed. My final impression was that it is a nice, bit more upmarket sort of place to eat and all in all everything was very good and nice, and flawless execution of the service and the food, could not complain about anything. Perhaps it wasn't however exceptionally memorable or quite the value for money considering the mains in particular were on the dear side. Recommend it warmly though and it is a lovely surrounding if you have a special occasion.
