AWARDS & PRIZES

Most star-rated hotels have their own restaurants and these are inspected by the AA. As with independent restaurants, rosettes from one to five are awarded annually to hotel restaurants for the quality of their food. Not all restaurants receive an AA award, but will generally serve enjoyable food. We seek out the best establishments in every part of Ireland for inclusion in our guides and, because we work independently and without charging a fee, you know that we can be trusted to lead you to the best places over a wide range of categories. Good Food Ireland is an industry driven food tourism organisation which was established in November 2006. Many good food operators in a cross-section of establishments all around the island from restaurants to accommodation, pubs to food shops to cookery schools wanted to be recognised and endorsed for their commitment to using Irish, local and artisan food produce. They wanted to share experiences and be cooperatively marketed to the domestic and international tourist. Agriculture and Tourism, two vital economies for Ireland have so much in common and are yet so far apart. Through Good Food Ireland the industry from both these sectors share a common belief and come together as one. Good Food Ireland brings you the visitor or domestic consumer what we believe is the only way to get a true taste of Ireland. Every year, the Bridgestone editors set out to find those restaurants that offer the best cooking and the best service in Ireland. This book features grand city restaurants, and tiny little one-room restaurants in the wilds of the country. There are restaurants located on islands, and restaurants that reverberate with the energy and mania of the city.

Where to start with this place, it is amazing. i have returned time and time again, never to be disapointed. from the food to the staff to the grounds, it really is a treat to be experienced at least once in your life time. From the second you drive into the place you know its going to be a great evening. We stayed the last time as i have always wanted to experience the breakfast and wow it was worth it. we were very surprised with the bill (in a good way) We are planning on having our wedding here,We cant wait to share this place with our friends and family ,

For that special night out to eat and relax, go to Inch house. The surroundings are wonderful and private. Food was second to none and the service was fantastic. My only fault is that l felt the seats were on top of each other at the table...very minor considering the wonderful food and ambiance.

Everytime we go to eat at Inch House it is a wonderful experience. The staff there are so helpful and friendly, the first time I ever ate garlic potatoes was there and when I go there they leave the whole dish for me. Most of the food is grown there on the land and everything is local where possible, which means the food is excellent.

Entering Inch House grounds was beautiful, greeted my the isolated gate house and guided by the fields of wheat. The House was very welcoming. The sitting area full of history and antiques. Service was good, the food was very tasty with perfect portions.

Amazing service, amazing food, amazing surroundings. Although its pricey, it's definitely worth it, the dining experience is spectacular, first you are shown into a reception room where you can order a drink while your table is being prepared in the dining room. The Georgian decor is stunning in both the reception room and the dining room. The staff are super attentive and friendly. The food is perfect and the portions are very generous. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this restaurant.

Went with a group of friends for dinner. Food was pretty good & there was lots of it! Service was good, all member of staff were very attentive. No atmosphere in the dining room & all tables were seated pretty much on top of each other, no space & had to squeeze between chairs to go the toilets. We were also told because it was a saturday night, we had to have all 5 courses & pay €60. Thought that this was a bit much considering that there is a recession on & if you didn't want all the courses due to smaller appetite you still ended up paying for it. Felt that a bottle of house wine or 2 should be included for this price considering there were 10 of us @€60 each! The majority of our party were very impressed with the quantity & quality of the food.
