I have been to the Peppermill many times and Robert Gill spares no expense to make sure people have the most splendid dining experience. It's one of the best restaurants in Nenagh and looks nicely upmarket with it's cocktail bar on the ground floor and the restaurant on the next floor. The food is ridiculously delicious and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

We went here with my family for our "Post Wedding"!!! As always with the Peppermill the food was fabulous, and the service was brilliant and for a Wednesday night the place was jammers. All the staff are super friendly and helpful and you can really get that family vibe from the minute you walk in the door. Robert is the host with the most and will always ensure that you are enjoying yourself and is there to give helpful advice on choices for those of us who tend to be slow at making a choice! Whether you are having a full meal or out with the girls for Tapas/Boards you are in for a treat.

Had the early bird menu. The braised beef was a highlight. The staff were very friendly and it was excellent value.

It was my first visit and I was sadly disappointed. Food was overpriced and under delivered. Had the lamb and it was actually tasteless. The scallops were over done and tasted of rubber. Service was ok but not what I'd expect for those prices!!

I find it difficult to understand the two negative reviews. I drop into this restaurant whenever I pass by, and I have never had a bad meal. They don't have an over-long menu, which is a good sign. They do fish well, and it's fresh - unlike some Dublin restaurants, which charge a lot more for stale fish. My wife loves their pork. One of their cooks is Malaysian, and you see it in a couple of the courses even though most of it is Irish style. The staff are excellent and friendly, and the bar is good. Management are a treasure - very efficient but also makes you feel welcome in a way that many restaurants have forgotten. You feel they like having you there - not just going through the motions like so many Dublin restaurants.

I find this restaurant overpriced It's a bistro -not a restaurant - charging Dublin restaurant prices. I think the only reason it's so popular is because Nenagh has such a shortage of decent places to eat. The service is well meaning but not quite right - starters arrive before wine, and then empty main course plates aren't collected for about 20 minutes. The wind list is very expensive for what's on offer - a somewhat decent rioja is e35, sparking Procecco is e37! We had (eye wateringly) overripe goats cheese starters, tasty but dry lamb shank main and a dreadful dry limp/stale thing masquerading as a chocolate brownie. Embarrassingly bad. The Irish coffees were nice and reasonably priced to be fair at e6.95. There's nowhere to hang your coat. You have to leave it draped over your chair or crumpled beside you on a banquette. That's a small thing but it could be improved upon with minimal effort and some training. Overall given the quality of the food and the service I believe that it is at least 30% overpriced. The setting is impressive - pity the food and service are mediocre.

I have visited the peppermill now on a number of occasions passing through Nenagh en route to Kerry and feel I need to write and tell people about it. It's got a great menu and a good variety of food. A bonus here is you can get a cocktail before dinner which is something I seldom find down the country. For any fish lovers (like me) the choice is great and I have yet to taste the rest but my partner raves about the roast duckling with the potato stuffing. Service is good and the staff are pleasant. Not sure whether the mgr on the floor is also the owner but you get the feel of a real personal touch. Only one problem you nearly always have to book.

Busy Place but felt that this was unprepared for. Special Starter was supposed to be goats cheese with black pudding and red onion but was really just cheese on toast. Once the main course had been served it was hard to get any more service, almost like you were forgotten. Ended up looking at finished mains plates for 30 minutes before finally getting a dessert menu but no one ever came back to take the order so we paid and left. Overall very expensive for what you got.

Really busy restaurant - menu is good, apart from dessert selection! Went on a girls night out - we were waiting about 20 minutes to be seated despite having booked. Starters were gorgeous as were our mains! But our starters had literally just been cleared 2 seconds before our main courses arrived, which was a bit much! 1 of our group got a dessert & it was horrible & was left 95% uneaten & when this was cleared anyway no body asked was it not ok. Which also appeared to be the case throughout our main course - no body came back to make sure that we had everything/were ok! Cocktail menu was good too. Service needs brushing up as does dessert menu. Will return again as I've been here a few times & generally I'm totally satisfied!
