Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. Good has improved dramatically over the last few years and ownership has recently changed. Presentation was superb and it is busy every time I visit! The restaurant is currently in the middle of refurbishment so there was limited seating but the staff did well to not turn us away and found us a lovely table. Will definitely be back again

Was looking forward to visiting this well known restaurant near Lough Derg while finishing up a cruising holiday on the river shannon. Terryglass is a really nice little village just off the lake with a good choice of bars and restaurants. We opted for the Derg inn as the menus looked the best and there were a lot of awards on display outside. Interior is very nice and comfortable and the staff friendly and attentive as well. We opted for three main courses, two had the scampi basket with chips and one the southern fried chicken with mash. Food was a bit basic for the prices charges, the mash was very runny and luke warm. The scampi had way too much batter. Not sure would go back as there are other restaurants on offer in the village as well which I would try the next time.

Very slow service. Good atmosphere. The food wasn't great as our mains came out and were almost eaten by the time the sides arrived. We got 3 potatoes to share among 4 people. Wont be back

Menu prices extortionate. Toilets not fit for public use. Food was bland. Attitude of management leaves a lot to be desired. Staff were friendly. Halloween decorations (cobwebs!!) not appreciated. Avoid at all costs.

Three of us went for dinner here last Saturday and the overall experience was very very poor. I ordered steak medium-well and my mum ordered cod. The steak came out cold and burnt and the vegetables were uneatable, the cod was cold also and didnt taste good, so we left behind 3/4s of the 2 meal, the third meal was a cold chicken salad and was fine. We informed the staff of these problems and he took away the food, but when he came back he sai that the chef said full price must be paid, and finished by saying but i could see that the steak was well over done just by looking at it. The bill came to 57 euro and we went home to get another dinner.

We have just spent a week on the Shannon and ate here no less than 3 times! The food and service were so good that we arranged to take the boat back late on Saturday morning so we could have dinner here on the Friday night and we then also had brunch here after returning the boat on Saturday. Food and service were excellent. The garlic mayo alone was to die for - and as for the Swiss chocolate mousse in a tuile basket - words faile me! We didn't find it possible to fit in 3 courses so choose carefully between starter and dessert. The bill for 5 of us for Friday night, including drinks, was just €155, which was wonderful value for the standard of food. We'll be back, whether on a boat or not.

Was on a boat on the Shannon for the week - finished it here with a group of friends! Terryglass is a lovely stop off- the Derg Inn and Paddys are highly regarded. Booked a table for 6 of us for 9pm- service was great- portion sizes and sides something else! No one went hungry! My steak a little overcooked- but just slightly! A fantastic time by all! Would def recommend it!
