Dropped in for a bite to eat on way home from visiting friends. Staff nice enough but food not so. I ordered chicken curry with chips and rice. Curry ok but rice was a dried-up clump. My husband had a mixed grill, overcooked, dried-up also. My son had burger, with chips, it was nice enough, he said. We ordered chicken nuggets and chips from kiddies menu for our little grandaughter. Once again, the nuggets were like rocks, she tried to eat one, way too hard but chips were nice. Definitely not worth the money... So if you only want home-made chips, this is the place to go, anything else, give it a miss....

we happened to stop here on a Wednesday evening for a bite to eat and im really sorry i dont live nearer to it as i would eat here all the time, the service was so good and fast and the food really good and huge portions, we both had the specials, chicken breast in a mushroom jus and veg and real homemade chips and my other half had beef which he said was best he ever tasted and he left there full which never happens,

Went to bridge for lunch for a quick sambo- it was terrible... expecting a nice chicken breast sandwich, it was however a few horrible pieces of dry breast, fatty and with black bits going through it served in between 2 slices of stale white bread.. yuck! just cudnt eat it. i am giving the food 2 stars only coz luckily my hubbie ordered chips, they were delicious as always- the only thing that are always fab.

I brought my family here after christmas for sunday lunch. The place seemed nice enough, but the food was embarressing to say the least. The beef was tough, veg were under-cooked.I had chicken which was still pink inside. My family were disappointed with the price. As a result i refused to pay for the meal. The staff didn't seem bothered that we were annoyed wth the food. i would not recommend this place.

hi, visited this restaurant just after newyear 2009 i took my mother who was visiting with my partner, was very dissapointed with quality of food, we ordered three mains we found that the food looked preheated in microwaves the beef was very poor quality and veg was half raw, my partner ordered chicken kievs wich was pink inside we notifyed the staff who took them back, only to replace them with the same poor quality food, was very dissapointed as the meals were not exactly cheap.

I first had lunch here about 6 years ago. I have to say eating in this bar is a great experience. It's an old style hostlery, cosy, warm & friendly. The menu never seems to change apart from the daily special which is usually quite traditional "Bacon & Cabbage" the last time I was in. I dined in the restaurant only once. It's a room situated adjacant to the bar area with bar tables & kitchen chairs - not the most comfortable or lavish but this is reflected in the price. The main thing is the quality of the food & service. Always gets my vote when I'm on this stretch of road and want something quick & tasty. A working lunch.

What a place!! After moving to Enfield recently, I tried the three or four other eatteries in the town until I got to the Bridge House. It was well worth the wait. The food is great. The special is different everyday and always tasty! Great selection for every appetite and the prices are very reasonable. The portion sizes are great(very ample) and kids can have any dish on the menu in a smaller size and cheaper of course ;) Highly recommended if you're living nearby or just passing through
