My overall impression of the pub wasn't bad. I was disappointed with the service. Thought it would be better

My husband & I visited Slevin's on our last night in Ireland and had a wonderful experience! The food was good, atmosphere was wonderful. We had a great server and bartender. We have been telling our friends about our great experience, many of whom are visiting Ireland in the next few months. Thanks for a great night. Sue

As this is my local I do come here for a carvery quite often. The food is pretty decent and it's cheap. The pub itself is lovely if it's busy but can be very quiet most days. It's very kid friendly so lots of families with kids on a Sunday, but during the week a good spot for a nice drink.

Ok, so it's carvery and it was just ok. Roast beef was one dinner and salmon and veg the other. Two dinners without drinks cost €25 which I thought was a bit on the dear size especially as the food was mediocre, atmosphere wasn't great where we ate and was quite uninviting. The pub part for drinking purposes on the other hand was great, watched the match and had a laugh but unlikely that I would eat here again.

Slevins is overprices especially in these recessionary times. Had lunch here last week with a friend I was charged €7.25 for a Chicken Panini with a few measely crisps and €2.00 for a pot of tea. I mean €7.25 and not even a salad garnish in sight. This place is way overpriced. I will not be back to Slevins again and I will be spreading the word. DO NOT GO TO SLEVINS IT IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE FOR LUNCH

Went for a family sunday lunch here last week. There was a shortage of baby highchairs and were left waiting on one for ages. The food was very fresh and good variety...that is if you eat meat! Only one fish on the menu, salmon and NO veggie option. I asked for maybe some salad to be told they had none!!! Ended up eating a plate of carrots!!!! I thought this was very poor. The chef was neither helpful nor friendly! However, everyone else in my party had lovely meals...but they all eat meat. Their portions were good but a bit overpriced at 12.50 a head.

Had Saturday lunch here, was quiet disappointed as we had checked there extensive menu on menupages first, however what was on offer on the day was quiet a lot less. I had plaice and chips, partner had burger with bacon and cheese, he found it quite hard to eat it as it was very dry and could not finish it, plaice was mediocre as were chip's expected more than this.

Have had lunch here often. Their beakfast is the best value in town; bacon, 2 sausages, fried egg, fried potatoes, tomatoe, black and white pudding, beans, toast and coffe for just €8.95. The carvery lunch is of good quality and variety. Haven't had an evening meal there yet but the menu looks interesting.
