As the weather was fantastic the seating area outside the inn was packed and the atmosphere was great. There was a guy playing music on a guitar and singing and the banter was good. Had steak on a stone, absoultey amazing! The chunky chips, onions, mushrooms and sauces were also very tasty. 1 of the steaks was a bit tough, not the same quality as the other steak and not very flavoursome but again the sides and sauces were excellent. Service was good, no delays encountered and very friendly staff. Very easy on the pocket too.

We stopped here on the way home recently. We were welcomed by an open fire, nicely arranged dining tables (very comfortable) and a very friendly waitress, but all within a pub atmosphere. Fairly standard menu with your typical pub grub, Nice alternative was a hot stone method of ordering/cooking your steak.. and at reasonable prices too. There were early bird specials to choose from also. We stuck to some homemade burgers with homemade fries (delicious), and spagetti with garlic bread. All great. Couldn't fault anything. Look forward to returning!

Go here drinking a good bit and tried the new menu at the weekend. We both got curry as the smell of it was teasing us, it really smellt nice. I was a little dissapointed it just tasted a little to much like it was out of a packet but others I talked to loved it. Have had soup and sambos a few times and they are always really good the club sambo is lovely.

We always go to this pub for Sunday carvery and it's the best carvery food anywhere. There is a good choice on every week. I had turkey and he had beef on last visit. The portions are great. You would never need ask for more and the gravy is lovely, just like a home cooked meal. The atmosphere is great and always with a roaring fire lit. The staff are very friendly and the manager always gives you a nod. Nice that our business is reconised. We have been time and time again and the food quality is consistent. The odd time that we have been able to fit a dessert in it was also great. We will be back. Can't wait.

Went for lunch in the Grasshopper recently and the palce was like faulty towers. It was about 1.15pm and the chef announced that the turkey wouldn't be ready for another 15 minutes. There was little else of interest on the carvery menu so I went to get a soup and a sandwich. The soup of the day was cabbage and cheddar cheese. Being adventurous I decided to give it a didn't work for me. Left waiting a long time overall which isn't ideal at lunchtime

What I love about this place is the carvery on a Sunday. The food is fantastic, the meat falling off the bone, the vegetables cooked like your mother used to and the portions ridiculously large. Great place to spend an afternoon in with the newspapers. The bar staff are friendly; the lounge staff are a bit crap. But I do love the place and hope to continue frequenting it!
