Both of us are vegetarians and the chefs kindly organised an alternative maincourse for us - gnocci in wild mushroom sauce. Absolutely delicious. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!!

I went for dinner here with my boyfriend on an overnight stay. We both had the duck spring rolls for starters which were lovely quite filling tho, i had the salmon for main which was delicious and creamy mash and roasted veg. My boyfriend had turkey & ham and it was a very big portion. We both had desert apple crumble. The food was lovely but portions are quite big. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very comfortable. We ordered off the set menu which was 20 euro per person , have to say it was excellent value.

Stayed at the hotel and went here for dinner. Duck spring rolls were excellent to start. The sirloin steak was very nice and perfectly cooked. The white truffle mash was the highlight of the dinner though. It was sooo good. Ha chocloate brownie for dessert. Was very nice but thought I was gonna explode after all the food.

Was staying at the hotel and decided to eat here. Had the duck spring rolls to start which were very tasty and the steak for mains. The steak was not good at all, although cooked perfectly the meat itself was not tasty at all and I left most of it. My partner had the lamb which was much better and probably what I should have ordered.

I went to Grill Twenty One for Sunday Lunch with my family. The restaurant is in the Marriot Hotel and the room seemed so vast and that we felt a little lost in it. The menu choice was nice and the food was enjoyable. However the portion sizes were very small. The service was good however just a little too attentive. They stood within 4 feet of our table throughout the meal so the atmosphere was a little tense. Over all it was ok, but not recommended for daytime relaxing with family or friends over lunch.

Went here on friday nite. the place was empty apart form or table, which gave a very dead atmosphere. Ordered main course only, the pork it was very tasty a bit too much of the sauce covering it though, was reasonably priced. The rest of the table got steak and found it lovely. Waiting staff were very attentive.

I was here about one month ago on a Sunday. Great value menu - 2 courses for €19. Not too impressed this visit I have to say. The Marriott Soup was nice for my starter. And Rolled Escalope Of Porkwith Fine Cheese And Beef Tomato Filling, Cracked Mustard Cream for my main. Plenty of beef, but I found the sauce very bland so I asked for extra chillies but even those didn't spice it up! All in all it was a nice evening (the atmosphere there was lovely) and the service was good. I think in the future I'll just avoid their beef dishes!

Ate here while on a break at the hotel. The food was georgeous and the staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant was very quite, and although the surroudings are really lovely, the place did lack atmosphere on the night. This did however work to our advantage as we had one-to-one customer services from the staff! Our package included dinner, which all in, was great value. The restaurant does offer an eralier bird menu which appears to be excellent value. That coupled with the friendly and helpful staff, I would definitely recommend a vist here.

Maybe one of the worst places I have ever eaten. The only food worth a mention was the bread and that was removed after the starter. The layout and decor is unappealing and the atmosphere is dead. There was only one other table in when we visited. Overall, dissatisfied on every level!! Would never go back. Tries to make the food sound fancy on the menu when it is below mediocre.

I really enjoyed my meal at Grill Twenty One. We didn't order a starter but were brought a bashet of fresh cranberry loaf and different seeded rolls which were delicious. We both ordered the chicken breast wrapped in proscuitto ham and stuffed with mozarella, it was delicious, one of the best chicken dishes I have ever eaten. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. The restaurant was quiet for a Saturday night so not much atmosphere. The price was a little expensive but overall would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Being a very plain and fussy eater, I did not want to eat plain chicken again. I persoanlly thought that the menu choice was great for all courses and has something to suit all. I wanted to pick something that i normally dont eat; for starters i experimented with Beef Satay- oh the satay sauce yummy then i choose the Fillet Steak which i normally never order/eat, which was also to my liking. I found the surroundings in the restaurant to be very welcoming and warm. The staff were also an asset to the hotel as they were very friendly and professional, but they made our night as it was a special occasion. The staff were able to adapt to the different needs of our table. Overall i would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Excellent, you'll see me back here.

My husband booked a table there for us and they rang to confirm the booking but when we got there they had no record of it. We asked them to send the courtesy bus to Ashbourne village so we could both have a drink and they didn't. The food was not great. I ordered crab stuffed mushrooms but there was barely a scraping of crab on it, the dessert was stale but everything else was okay. There was NO atmosphere there at all (only 8 diners apart from us) and by the time our main course had arrived (about 10pm) they had cleared all the candles away and were putting cups and saucers and sugarbowls and marmalade on all the tables for breakfast the next morning.

We had a very bad dining experience here, so bad we rang the manager afterwards, something we have never done before. Everything we ate was badly cooked. My salmon needed to be cooked more and appeared as if someone had dumped a pot full of mustard seeds on top of it. I had to scrape them off to find it. The chips were also of very poor quality. My husband was very disappointed in his steak. My starter of fish cakes was burnt. The only thing we could eat was the pavlova dessert, which was very good. It's definitely the worst place we have ever eaten in Ashbourne (or anywhere else, come to think of it). Quite expensive too considering the main courses come with no sides at all and you need to order a minimum of two with the tiny main course portions.
