Stayed for a night, five of us and it was fab. The food was superb...lunch, dinner and breakfast! My favourite was my salad nicoise had as starter, beautiful rare tune! The room that 3 of us shared was great, will definitely plan a return

Had an evening meal here with my partner. We availed of the reasonably price early bird menu. I had the black pudding started which was only ok. The black pudding was very nice but the accompanying salad wasnt dressed or complimented with any sauce which might has set the dish off. For mains I had a steak which I requested medium but was undercooked. I can put up with that but it lacked flavour and the accompanying fries were not great tasting, large but oily homemade type. Dessert of knickerbocker glory was very good. good quality icecream, fresh fruits and cream. Good quality wine served. Table service was slow but they did apologise. The waitress didnt check in to see did we need anything else or if the meal was ok, so I wouldnt rate the service too highly. The three course early bird was 25 euro and I paid an extra 7 euro for the supplement on steak. I cannot understand how professionals cant get steak right.

Went for a weekend away without the kids, Bliss! The food in the bar was excellant, staff were amazing. I had fish and chips. The chips were homemade, soft on the inside and lovely and crispy on the outside. My partner had steak and chips. The steak was cooked to perfection, my mouth was watering when i saw it coming. Himself got a lovely Apple Pie dessert. Along with the food and cocktails we had a fantastic time. The only shock we got was the bill, it was half we thought it would be!!! Knightsbrook Hotel, excellent service, food and value!

I stayed there with friends for one night and although the rooms and the facilities were fine the meal in the restaurant was a disaster. There was a queue out the door in the restaurant ( even though we had pre booked what time we wanted to eat at ) and there were not enough staff on .We had to send back our food twice as it was cold and then the Maitre D had an arguement with our waitress in front of us at the table why she wasnt working fast enough on bringing out the food - we felt so sorry for the girl it was obvious she was doing her best .If we could have gone somewhere else to eat ( after waiting three hours for our meal ) we would have but as we couldnt have food elsewhere there was nothing we could have done I dont think that we were the only table that had problems as we spoke to other guests that night and they had similar problems .If they hired more staff it could run better .I wouldnt return though.

I attended a wedding at The Knightsbrook Hotel on Dec 29th and dined in their Rococo Restaurant on the 30th. The numbers had increased from the original booking but this wasn't a problem. Extra tables were sorted within minutes and we sat to eat from a very nice menu. Starters ranged from Pork Belly to Crab Couscous. The mains included Monkfish and Hereford Steak. It was very very tasty but just not enough on the plates to satisfy some of the party. They were busy but even so, almost 3 hours for a set 3 course meal is stretching it a bit. I would however return because the Bar Food menu looks quite inviting also.

I didnt like much about this place to be honest. The hotel is lovely but the food is not so nice. i got fish in batter with chips and it was really bad, plus on more than one of my visits to this hotel i had to go looking for somebody to take our order and then i was left waiting for ages on dinks and food.

Went for a weekend stay in Knightsbrook and overall really enjoyed it. The room was fabulous (we did have the Executive Suite though) with 3 TVs huge dining area and gorgeous jacuzzi bath. We had dinner in the Rococo restaurant on the Fri which was quite nice, had foie gras for starter which was gorgeous but had the scallops for mains which were a little disappointing, overcooked and quite small. Had the cheese board for desert which again was very tasty, the only criticism was the waiter he was very grumpy indeed, we tried to engage with him but he wasnt having it at all. There wasnt many people in the restaurant so overall the place lacked atmosphere. Would defo recommend the hotel though, there was a great buzz in the place, there was two weddings on (one on Fri and one on Sat) so lots of people around, we would definitely return.

Overall our experience here was v poor, but given this site is from a foodie's perspective, I'll leave out the disastrous spa experience and the average hotel room stay. The restaurant food was excellent, the best part of our experience throughout our stay at knightsbrook. The portions are good and quality of ingredients used were also of a high standard. Servie was good too. The atmosphere was a little odd, it was a warm summers evening (after 8 thus no direct sun beam) and yet the curtains were drawn in the restaurant? The bread on the tables was a little hard but all in all, I'd overlook this and give the food the thumbs up. Wouldnt bother with the Spa if I was going again, bad bad bad.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Knightsbrook experience and cannot find fault, unusual for me! Everything was perfect - the room, Spa treatment, atmosphere, bar service and best of all Dinner in Rococco restaurant. This hotel is without a doubt the best in County Meath, Other Management teams should come here - watch and learn. The staff in Knightsbrook all have the customer as No.1, and nothing is too much trouble. I will return again soon, its a real pleasure and excellent value for money.

I have enjoyed dinner in the restaurant in Knightsbrook a few times of late, most recently this evening! For a Sunday evening there was a buzz in the restaurant, which in past has been lacking, but for the good value I am not surprised. The three of us chose from the dinner menu at €48 for 4 courses plus tea/coffee, (There is a cheaper menu available from Sunday to Thursday for under €30). I had a lovely grilled aubergine and goat's cheese starter, which was tasty. We then had a sorbet, follwed by our main courses. I chose the sea bass and once again it impressed - the fish was cooked just right and the side of vegetables were delicious. My husband had the fillet steak, which he asked to be cooked medium, he felt it was cooked just past medium, but was happy enough overall. The dessert of saffron poached pear was a little disappointing - I had visions of a nice warm pear dripping in a warm chocolate sauce. My own fault for not correctly reading the menu - the pear was cold and covered in a hard chocolate glaze. However, the service was attentive but never intrusive. Christmas music was piped through the restaurant, which after a while got boring - a little mix this early in December would have been more enjoyable for those of us who have not quite attained that Christmas spirit!

We eat here regularly...restaurant is lovely & has a cheaper menu most nights now...which is not of a lesser quality! We have found that it is almost/is cheaper to eat in the restuarant ...even if were only having a quick bite before the kids bedtime....ususally quicker also...as bar service can be a little slow! Food is always excellent... although we have found the buffet over time can be expensive or limited especially if you have specific dining requirements... but overall I have to say a great food experience! Spa staff are lovely also & they have some great deals at the moment for xmas pressies

Really nice place to eat, the food is lovely, not so bad price wise as long as you stay away from desserts etc., One suggestion I would make is to have specials on as the menu has been the same since it opened, the food on the menu is great but just to have the choice of something different
