Went to Sol Rio early on a busy Saturday night with two adults and six children, the waitresses couldn't be more helpful and seated us at a large table upstairs suitable for families. The kids menu was superb with the children being able to order a steak for a small price, everyone loved their food and I would definitely recommend Sol Rio. I go to westport every year so know the restaurants and it is definitely one of the best!

Have been to this restaurant a year ago and didn't think much. My husband booked again this year as he forgot the name. (unfortunately), first of put at a table which was very shakey. We tried to fix it and when the matre d saw us she came over and lifted the table unfortunately there was a jug of water on the table which went all over us. She apologised alot and moved us to a very large table not very romantic. However we ordered our food and waited and waited. We were sat for 1 and a half hours and I only had a starter which was OK. Dinner not so great. Very very slow at serving food. Would never return here. There are alot nicer restaurants in Westport unfortunately they were all booked out which says alot.

Very dissapointed. Waiting over 50 mins for main course it was busy but i could hear alot of people complaining about different things. Too much going on on the plate too much effort doing that and food not that great wouldnt go again. Also overpriced.

HAve eaten here before, there has been a huge improvement. The quality was probably always there but there's a new flair and style which is very professional and attractive. Had good Scallop and Prawn starter followed by a good steak. Decent and reasonable value Shiraz red. 2 friends had a good dinner too. Nice puddings. I think its one of the better restaurants on the Westport High Street

We ate here at the weekend for my friends 30th. We opted for the seasonal menu which is great value. The service was initially quite slow, waiting over 15 minutes for the wine we ordered to arrive but the food overall was very good. I started with the prawn & crab which was very tasty, my duck main course was nice but the casoulet which came with it did not really go. My friends mushroom and chorizo risotto on the other hand was to die for. Dessert was the highlight, I was so full but still ate every last crumb of my banoffi! Would certainly eat here again.

Fantastic food, excellent choices on the wine list and cool tunes in the background! There are daily specials which always include some locally sourced fish. The service can leave something to be desired, they take an informal approach to service which i do not think sits very well with the type of food that they serve! However, again i reiterate that the food is fantastic so if you are prepared to forgive the dodgy waitressing then you will love this place!
