The Idle Wall Restaurant
The Quay, Westport
Since its opening, Quay Cottage has been a very popular place. It is open 11 months of the year, serving dinner daily. As it tends to be quite busy, please call ahead for reservations and to avoid disappointment.
Quay Cottage can accommodate parties of up to 100 people. We ask that special events be scheduled at least one month in advance. Kirstin MacDonagh will be glad to help you plan your event at your convenience. We regretfully cannot accommodate parties of more than 10 people on Friday or Saturday evenings during the peak summer season.

I ate here on Saturday night with my boyfriend. Everything about the place was great. The staff were lovely and attentive, and the design of the restaurant has a lovely old-time feel to it. For starter we shared the seafood platter and for mains we got the monkfish and the duck. Everything was delicious but the monkfish was divine! I would go back just for that! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We got lucky in that Quay Cottage is not usually open on Mondays but they had a large party so we managed a booking in the very sweet front room -- the old cottage part. So charming. Decorated with nautical decor. The Frenchwoman who greeted us was so pleasant and efficient. We had a most delightful and delectable meal. There were 4 of us and we each had something different. The seafood platter and the crispy duck were amazing, as were the two fish mains. Perfectly cooked, exquisitely laid out on the plates, it was a meal to remember. Don't pass up a chance to stop in.

Came here with my partner whilst staying at a nearby hotel. The Restaurant has is well presented with all sorts to of decorations to entertain, the waiter was very friendly and the food was superb. I had the fillet of angus steak which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the Turbot served with a crab meat risotto, both of which he said were great. Fondant to finish was amazing, would readily come back if we were in the area again :)
