Had a lovely meal here at John Grays last Friday night. We had booked a 2 night + 1 dinner stay and went for the set dinner. However, we were able to upgrade to any of the a la carte courses on payment of a supplement. We chose the soup and salmon respectively for starters and they were delicious. We each paid a 6 euro supplement for the T-bone steak main, but it was well worth it. What a steak! It was cooked to perfection and came with a really nice sauce and veg. Took a long time to finish, but we still had room for desserts. I had the chocolate fudge cake and my wife the banoffee pie, both perfectly done. The wines were a little on the pricey side but we settled for a nice Fleurie that cost 30 euro and it matched the steak quite well. Service was efficient if a little slow, but I put that down to how busy the restaurant was that night.
