We stayed in the hotel and had a lovely few days. The best bit was sitting in the Hot tub outside watching the birds on the river. Totally chilling! The room was very comfortable and the bed was so snug. The Breakfast was good, but the dinner was ok. Very nicely presented, starter and dessert were good but the main course was disappointing. This is a good location to traveling around the area ... which is super. The main lady on reception was rather frosty when we booked!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights and dined in the hotel restaurant on 1 night. The restaurant service is outstanding - attentive and professional. The decor is pretty stark, without any great embellishment, which I expect is to be provided by the excellent views during daytime or summer evenings but on a dark night is lacking. We were really excited by the impending meal as the restaurant food is generally regarded as of exceptional quality. It is very good but not outstanding, especially at the price charged. We loved the hotel but will probably not rush back to the restaurant for dinner. Breakfast however is very good.

My boyfriend and I had dinner in the restaurant on the Friday evening. It was quiet atmosphere, staff were very professional and service was good. My starter (pate) and main (hake) were both good, however the dessert (citrus tart) was quite dry and not much flavour. It felt like it was not fresh and the base quite thick pasty. Aside from that, the experience was very enjoyable and the wine good! Would recommend overall.

The food was wonderful, but the waitress spilt soup on me. It was a disaster. They then offered us two glasses of Prosecco. Suffering from shock and our evening ruined, we finally went to our room. It blighted our stay!

Friendly and attentive service. For starters the Clew Bay scallops with Calvados reduction and slow cooked pork belly with butternut puree was delicious. Pan fried hake with crispy calamari and roasted sweet potato and pepper salsa was very tasty even though the hake was a tad overdone. A selection of icecreams and citrustart with vanilla icecream and passionfruit coulis and blackberries completed our meal. An enjoyable meal.

I must say that I love this restaurant even though it is overpriced. I do like treating myself and really enjoy the sorbets/amuse bouche that you get inbetween courses. The service is always polite and the try their best although clearly arent trained properly, still the portions are perfectly sized and the desserts are absolutely beautiful and I rarely eat desserts anywhere. I will be back but at these prices it will be sometime.
