My partner and I stopped for lunch here midweek. The place was quite busy but we were not left waiting for anything. Food was fresh and tasty and we really enjoyed it. Will have to pop in to try out their dinner menu sometime soon! :-)

The wife didn't want to eat Skippy, so kangaroo was off our menu! Pork fillet in mushroom sauce was excellent, as too was the cod with Thai coconut sauce. Apple and pear tart very tasty with hint of cinnamon. Rhubarb and custard cake surprising (more a pie crumble) and very delicious. Cream was light and fluffy with an air of unreal. It probably was real cream but airiness makes me suspect, hopefully less calories! Glass of house red (shiraz) good. Coffee good too. No decaf tea available. Outside seating area overlooking Boyne a let down, its really just a smoking area but could be so much more. We were there 7.30pm Thurs and place practically empty, which didn't help with atmosphere. Was picking up when we left at 9. They should rehang the loo doors to open other side so you can walk in without having to open door 145 degrees first, spring doors would improve 'passing by' look too, nobody wants to see toilet bowls. We'll be back for food and service. Menupages and their own website both need updating to reflect opening hours and menus.

Great atmosphere, fantastic host / maitre d, great service, lovely selection of food. Tried crocodile and scallops for starter, kangaroo and ostrich for main, pear and plum crumble and chocolate cake for dessert. Excellent value bottle of red, 2 glasses white wine and double espresso, 117 for the lot. Encouraged to stay the night, no rush to give back the table. Live musician very good and not intrusive. Would highly recommend. Will be back.

My friends were raving about this place. Checked it out the weekend. No atmosphere as there were very few people there. Unless you like Crocodile, Kangaroo, dont go, there is no great choice on the menu. I had the chicken in a pancake which came covered in a thick sauce and I could not see what was under it. Services was good but waitress was not great in terms of describing the dishes. Cant say I will be in a hurry to go back.

I have been here a few times both for food and drinks... i love the place, it's small and cosy and there's always a fantastic atmosphere... they sometimes have live music playing.... the menu is constantly changing as it's not a set menu which is great and the food really is fantastic... would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere new to try :D

Never intended to go here. Was going next door for a suit fitting but got there when they were closed for lunch. My wife and I decided to pass the time waiting by having a coffee in here. Found the place surprisingly busy though with tables to spare. We were greeted and seated with the minimum of fuss and upon looking at the menus decided that lunch might not be such a bad idea. I'm a vegetarian and generally find restaurants a big disappointment on the choice score unless they are Italian, Indian or specifically vegetarian (especially in Ireland where carnivores obviously all come from!). I was pleasantly surprised to see a very wide range of vegetarian choices amongst a very wide range of choices. I opted for the feta, spinach and courgette crepe with salad and was not disappointed. Very tasty and only 6.95. Ordered an espresso to go with it. Only mistake I made. With so many Irish people holidaying in Italy there really is no excuse for not knowing how to make a 'real' espresso. All in all though, a real find for me and I will be back. I just won't order the espresso! (I would have given the food five out of five but a bad espresso really is a bit of a downer. Please sort that out!)

I went here with a big group of people and in a sense we created our own atmosphere. I had the salmon and potatoes cakes to start which i thought were lovely. For my main course I had the pork and i not sure what type of potatoes but I didnt like them as they were in between mash and sautee.

Lovely atmosphere, great for farge groups as they are not in a hurry to get you out of the restaruant which means you can relax and have a few drinks after your meal. Service is quite slow though, waiting over half an hour for starters and the prawn cocktail although nice had only four prawns in it! Steak was delicious and a lovely large portion however do order medium if you like rare and well if you like medium as both of our medium steaks were on the very rare side. Desserts are nice and the wine list is reasonable.

have eaten here a few times and have always had a nice experience. There is a lovely laid back atmosphere and the staff are very nice. The food isn't great, nothing you couldn't make for yourself at home after a day at work, not very wow at all but the prices are quite fair.

Dined here with my family recently and we were all very disappointed. Service was very slow, food was quite pricey for the quality. The venue is far too small for live music...we all couldn't wait to leave. Waiter/ owner seemed more interested filling our glasses then supplying food and even the bill.
