Food was delicious, and the service was great with the exception of one of the managers, she was very rude and you could tell the other waitresses didn't like her. I waited to pay for 5 minutes, while all the other staff were busy, and she saw me and continued to shine cutlery with her head down. On the other hand, the rest of the staff made up for it. 2 ladies were particularly nice and helpful. cod was delicious.

This is a big, bright and spacious restaurant. Would find it very hard to say anything negative about a meal at the Riverbank. It was absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. The menu isn't extensive, but there's enough on it to please most people's tastes. Waiting staff very friendly and chatty - overall a good dining experience.

Enjoyed a meal in this restaurant on Friday evening - it was part of a two-night stay in the hotel. Got a window seat overlooking the Shannon - quite relaxing to watch it flowing by outside. Service was very prompt, and this, combined with a good atmosphere, delicious food and a nice bottle of wine all added up to a great evening.

What a gem!!! 13 from work went there for our lunch break from a training course we were doing near by. I had the battered cod, chips and mushy peas from the 6.50 menu. The cod was just beautiful and the portion was big for the price. The special that was on yesterday was Soup and ham sandwich for 5 euro... what a bargain!!! All of us were delighted with our new find and will def be back there again.

Went here for lunch as i was passing through limerick. I had the Ceasar salas which was very cheap at €7. It was served quickly which i expected and was very fresh and well prepared. I would recommend this place for lunch as it has free parking and is easy to find.

I had lunch there a few weeks ago. I couldnt believe how cheap all the dishes were. They ranked from 5 to 8 euro. I had the chicken which was good. The black puddiung mash was the highlight of my meal. I tasted my partners fish and chips, which was delicious. Lunch is from 12.30 to 2.30, ill definately be going again.

This place is great value now that they are doing a value menu. Had the thai red curry one week and fish n chips a few weeks later. Advisable to book lunch now as it is getting busy due to the word of mouth. One very disappointing thing did happen though. When i paid the water took my change and put it in his tip jar. He didn't acknowledge me he just started chatting to a fellow waiter and when i asked for my change he said 'oh - i thought that was my tip'. Cheeky in the extreme. Apart from that worth a trip i guess.

We were staying in the Hotel for the weekend, which was lovely, the room was fab, but the food seriously let this place down. We had our dinner included in the package, it wasn't the supervalu one so we could choose from anything on the menu, but the food was disappointing. I had the goats cheese tarlet, I adore goats cheese, this was a disaster as the tartlet was obviously prebaked, it was rock hard. The chicken wings my partner had were better, but the steak was awful, really thin and cheap tastng. I had the burger, which was ok, chips were good too. We rounded off with desserts, my meringues were so hard and chewy, I managed one and then had to give up! Would stay in hotel again, but room only as food is not their strong point!

The Hotel is really very nice and looks better on the inside than the perception is on the outside. We had the Early Bird Menu and I would highly recommend it. There was a choice of 4 starters and as there were 4 of us we had one starter of each. Each one was more delicious than the next. The Vegetable soup was the best ever, the Smoked Salmon divine. Each one was so well presented and the portions were just right. The Main course was just as good. I had the Salmon which was the best I have ever tasted and the Vegetables and sauce were scrumptious. Everyone else was equally pleased. Our waitress was so lovely and helpful and the food was so well presented I didn’t know whether I should eat it or photograph it. As there were 4 of us she took our order in pairs as each couple gets a bottle of house wine - we had the red and it was fairly good. It worked out at €60 per couple. Our son had the chicken dinner from the children’s menu and it was gorgeous; he got crayons and colouring pages to keep him occupied and the waitress had a special word for him every time she came down. He loved her! If I had any complaints it would be the deserts (although I am not really a desert lover) the brownie was just a bit coco tasting for me and the apple crumble had a new twist on it and I sort of like it standard. I would certainly eat here again and recommend it to anyone.

We were really impressed with this place, the early bird menu is great value at €60 for 3 courses and a bottle of wine for two. I had the goats cheese tartlet and chicken stuffed with clonakilty pudding which were both very tasty. My other half had the steak and said it was cooked perfectly. The hotel and restaurant were quite busy with it being a Saturday and the Elton john concert in thomond park but definitely couldn't fault the service either. The staff were very very pleasant and efficent. Next time we visit Limerick we'll definitely be coming back!

We only ate at on the bar side instead of the restuarant, I had the shear pan fried chicken stuffed with clonakilty black pudding which was very tasty and I had followed that up with a very nice bread & butter pudding!

Ate here this weekend as we were staying at the hotel on a weekend break. The service and food left a lot to be desired. On the first night we waited for over 40mins for our starters, we had to remind the staff that we had not yet received our starters when one staff member went to place a dessert in front of me. Our empty plates were still sitting in front of us for about 30mins after we had finished the starters. Then we ordered drinks from a waitress, & again 20 mins later were reminding her that we were still waiting on the drinks. Our main courses finally arrived about 40mins after our starters. Burger was all dried out. Vegetarian Curry consisted of fried onions and a few courgette slices in a red thai curry sauce with overcooked rice. V poor vegetarian option. The head waiter offered us desserts on the house because of the delays, but we didn't feel like desserts after such poor food and service. On the second night we were using Supervalu Break vouchers for the meal. Even though we had booked the four star break the menu was extremely limited and no supplements were available, which we were willing to do. The service was much faster & staff were far more organised then previous night, but still forgetful. The biggest issue this time was that we god a rocky table which is not normally an issue as the staff would sort it. When we sat at the table initially a glass ornament went flying off and smashed on the tiles, around other diners. Mortified we asked for them to put something under the table... Half way through the meal we were still waiting, until another waiter noticed that it was extremely unstable, and assured that they would have this fixed. I assume that table is the same way as no one came to our rescue on the night. Overall very poor service as staff as so disorganised, no sense of team work. And no direction from Management. The food was not of the Quality or standard that one would expect for a four star hotel, whether part of a package or not!
