On Thursday 1st April, Café Noir opened its 3rd outlet in the City at 84 O'Connell Street. Set in one of the oldest & most distinguished buildings in Limerick, the latest Café is already a hit with queues for breakfast & lunch on its first few days of opening. "The feedback from customers has been amazing, the office quarter of the City certainly needed a day time offer and we are delighted to provide it" said Pat O'Sullivan, Managing Director.

When im working this is def my favourite place to go in Limerick to grab a sandwich!! The closed brown bread tuna sandwich is divine. However the service is very slow and the girls dont always wear their hats while making the sandwiches and sometimes there fixing their hair while preparing the food. A bit unhygenic in that sense! Its sometimes very hard to get seating and theres nearly always a queue but the food is great.

Went here to escape rain one day. Was initialy attracted by the beautiful front of cafe, old terraced house, quaint and charming. Being new to the city I was not aqquainted with the Cafe noir chain and so was pleasently charmed by the decor, suitably french but snug and somehow comforting in its cliched way. Coffee was my order and scone, both large and filling, not the cheapest coffee but very good. The service is good though nothing extradinary, usualy self service, maybe a smile would not go astray? Overall I was impressed by the place, in city with quiet a few modern coffee shops this chain does a lot to soothe ones need for old world charm. Liked it enough to return.

Had lunch in the new restaurant and I was very impressed. i went for the fish pie and salad and it was very good. Surroundings very nice and great to see such landmark buildings in use again in the city centre. Staff were excellent and very friends and very familar with the menu. Will be back when next looking for a venue for lunch in the city!
