Myself and hubby stayed in Zuni townhouse may bank holiday and had a meal in the restaurant. It was excellent. The service was brilliant and the staff new their food and wine. Scallops and steak for me was mouth watering, duck and Pork for hubby very tasty. Deserts are a must. Really enjoyable meal in lovely surroundings with a fab atmosphere.

We were a very large group but the service was very professional and efficient; the food was very nice but my starter( chili chicken) was a bit plain. Every dish is very well presented, deffo a place to go; also, the early bird is very good value.

Dined there last night, restaurant overcrowded, too many tables in space, very noisy, main course portions very small, food nothing special, wine@ €62 a bottle a rip off...

Got a table for the early bird during Arts week and the restaurant was busy. However, we couldn’t fault anything. Service was prompt and attentive, food was delicious, decent portion sizes beautiful presentation. The Scotch Egg starter was unusual but we all enjoyed a bit of it. The pork and fish as main courses, cooked perfectly and served with fresh vegetables. This was our first time to eat here and we’ll definitely return

Had the early bird here recently on a Tuesday night. Was very impressed. Beetroot starter was delicious as was the hake for mains. Although perhaps the fish cake accompaniment with the hake could be replaced with a portion of potato instead. Maybe thats just my taste! Pork belly was devoured too. Didn't try desserts as we were nicely full. Service could be a bit more "on the ball" in that we had to ask twice for water, wine and the bill. Other than that very pleased and would return for the early bird again.

Dined here tonight and we had a lovely meal .Starters were goats cheese spring roll with hummous and Deep fried squid with pickled cucumber and wasabi sauce . Both very good but the hummous stood out . Mains were chicken risotto and confit duck leg .Again they were tasty and very well presented . Both mains were quite filling . For 46 euro this represented great value

Most recently ate here for Saturday lunch with my wife. She had a delicious dish of beer-battered fish and lovely chunky homemade chips, which were seasoned to perfection. I had a very nice seafood pasta dish which was equally good quality, fantastic flavous, good service all round. We have eaten here on a few occasions, each time has been a real treat, every course is served with real care and attention. Perfect for a light lunch in the day, but also a great location for a romantic dinner at night. Highly recommended if you are in Kilkenny.

Visited Zuni, after suggestion by a family member. Got earlybird for 23e for 2 courses, which is very good value. Suplement of 6e for sirloin. Had goats cheese and deep fried squid for starters, Goats cheese was nice but became a bit sickening with a very sweet raspberry dressing. Deep Fried Squid was good but a bit dry, wasabi sauce was quite bland and there wasn't enough. Sirloin steak was delicious as was the Mackerel, however the raisins were unnecessary. Didn't have dessert! Would recommend earlybird but normal menu seemed a bit expensive.

My wife and I had a very pleasant evenig at Zunis. We got the early bird menu which was good value 3 courses for 28 euro. Starters consisted of chilli chicken salad with cashew nuts which was very tasty but a bit spicy and squid. Main course salmon and macaroni. Both delicious but would like more new potatoes. Desert sticky tofee pudding which was wonderful. Service very attentive. Nice atmosphere. Toilet space a bit cramped. Food delicious and will go back

Myself and my boyfriend came to this restaurant during the week and it was rather empty so there it was more intimate. This also meant that there was excellent service and we were never left waiting for long as we had other plans and did not want to be left sitting waiting for things. However, I must add that we were not rushed either so it was a very pleasant evening. I ordered the soup for starters - mushroom and leek. It was very nice though maybe a little bit too much pepper for my liking. Nonetheless, I still reccommend it and would order it again. My boyfriend chose a selection of cold meats which he really enjoyed. For the main course I chose the scallops with a sweetcorn risotto. I had never had this before and it was quite nice. My boyfriend chose the pork which was cooked perfectly. We did not have any dessert. All in all the service was excellent and the food was very well cooked. There was a nice tranquil atmosphere. However I found this restaurant to be the most expensive and will not be in a hurry to return.

Had lunch here on sunday with my wife and kids. Really enjoyed the meal. We just had maincourse and dessert. Pork belly was lovely as was the steak with herb butter. Kids had pasta and ice creams which were good. Was quiet enough but nice atmosphere. The service was excellent, the head waiter being very good with the kids.. Bit hard on the pocket but wothy treat every so often. Will return....

We had a bit of a wait for a table on a busy Thursday night but once we were seated the service was very friendly and efficient. We shared a delicious, simple yet perfectly executed chicken and cashew nut salad which was a lovely lighy starter with a sweet and slightly spicey dressing. The bread we were given before the stater arrived was wholesome, fresh and tasty and came with a lovely herby butter. For mains I had the chicken maryland which was really well presented and came with inventive accompainements, sauted pineapple, mago and bernaise sauce sitting very well with tasty fresh mixed vegetables, puree and the seeded bread crub coated chicken. My Boyfriend had a beautifully rare Tuna steak with wasabi theat really packed punch and nicely seasoned rice. We didn't opt for dessert being to full from a large but the selection looked lovely with reasonably priced tea and coffees. All in all one of the best, least tired menus I've had in a while and very reasonably priced.

Cant see what all the hype about this place is. We went here and chose from the early bird menu. The restaurant was very busy. Selection was not brilliant. Both of us went for the confit chicken salad starter. All it was was some lettuce leaves, brown chicken, bout 5 nuts, some parsnip crisps and very little dressing, wasnt a bit impressed. Like another reviewer my partner got the steak with the €6 supplement and it was as tough as nails. I had the trout which was perfectly done but there was no sauce or anything special about it. We didnt bother with desert, had a coffee. I certainly wouldnt be recommending it to a friend and wont be back. Too expensive and nothing special.
