This is the best Italian restaurant in the country. My family and I go there quite often and we are never disappointed with the quality of food or the attention from the servers. If you are in Kilkenny, this restaurant is a must.

My boyfriend and I went to Rinuccinis for our anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was wonderful and great value as we availed of the early bird menu. The wine list was diverse and ranged from very reasonable prices to more expensive wines. The restaurant was busy but the staff were all friendly and very attentive. Would definitely eat here again.

What a find. The staff are very friendly and professional. I had the Salad and for Mains I had the Cod both were really excellent. My Husband had Seared Beef Salad and for Mains he had the Pork Belly and the Chocolate Mousse for dessert all were really excellent. The coffee was really good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is a must if you are in Kilkenny. I cannot recommend this enough, food, wine and service first class. My fourth visit to this restaurant and it didn't disappoint.

Thoroughly enjoyed our night here. The menu was exciting and varied and they also had specials on which I had of Haddock stuffed with spinach & carrot on a bed of roast veg, deliciously light and tasty. He had the lobster & crab ravioli with the meatballs to start while I had the antipasto starter. We couldn't help ourselves but taste each others and all was excellent. Complemented by the excellent friendly and professional service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. A must for food lovers on a visit to Kilkenny.

Visiting from Dublin, this restaurant was recommended to me by a friend so we popped in on the off-chance that they would fit us in. We had three waiters in total attending us on the ground floor. The service is, on the whole, excellent with the exception of one waiter who was, no other word for it, surly and grumpy! Having had a beautiful meal with friendly, efficient service, this guy came to us at the end and put a downer on the whole experience! But its my only complaint. The food - it was excellent. They brought bread and bread sticks to nibble on while waiting on our food. We also ordered olives which came in a delicious olive oil. For my starter I had aubergine slices wrapped over cheese cooked in a tomato sauce. Vegetarian (I'm a meat eater so would rarely go for this option!) and it was full of flavour. My boyfriend got cured slices of beef with cheese and a little salad. He adored it. For main I got rib of beef cooked in a red wine reduction with parmesan risotto - one of the tastiest and nicest risottos I have ever had and it complimented the richness of the beef so well. The beef fell off the bone it was cooked nicely. My boyfriend got meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta. He was full of compliments and commented that the meatballs fell apart in his mouth (in a good way!). We were so stuffed that we decided to skip desert but opted for coffees instead - Amaretto and Calypso coffees. For me it was the perfect way to finish. Its not the cheapest restaurant - overall including wine it was €95 each including a 12% tip. It was an early bird menu - two courses for €23 and I think it was worth every cent. We liked it so much we considered coming back for lunch but never made it! I will be recommending it to friends as I'd like to see if they think the same!!!

After reading the reviews and knowing that the restaurant is visited by people when celebrating, I was a bit disappointed. The food was good but nothing special, portions sizes on the small side. There is a good wine selection. Water was not topped up during our meal though the glasses were empty. Service was intermittent and we were left quite a while after we had finished before being able to get our bill. A couple who arrived shortly after us requested a bottle of champagne as soon as they were being seated. As a result the staff were very attentive. I had tried to make a reservation earlier in the day but was told they were full. As we were passing we decided to see if there had been a cancellation. They seated us immediately – rather strange! And there were several empty tables Overall nothing special just average

Full marks all round! We ate here as the first nite of a hen weekend in KK and it was divine! The menu was superb and the service excellent - even when one of the girls wanted a dish on the menu without the prawns - the waiter went off to request of the chef - who made her up the sauce without the prawns! Delicious food, enjoyed by all. Great selection of wine too! We'll definitely be back for more! Thank you!

My third time to eat here. The very good service today was provided by well groomed pleasant and professional staff. Foodwise was excellent. We all had a soup starter. For mains I had canneloni whilst one friend chose a chicken and pasta dish whilst the third member of the group had chicken with potato. Finally for desert I had a cheesecake whilst the second member of the group had a panna cotta. The third member declined desert. Overall we loved our food. The atmosphere was very nice. The only thing that I would have liked that I did not see would have been a visit to the table by the manager on duty. However all in all I would highly recommend this eatery which offers great food for affordable prices.

I would recommend Rinuccini, particularly for special-occasion meals. It’s a small intimate restaurant opposite the castle, with outstanding and fuss-free service. It is pricey, but we went for the early bird, which was great value. The service was smooth and non-evasive. They took our coats for us, and bread and water came down to the table quite quickly. I could not fault the service at all. Each table that was emptied while we were there was smoothly redressed without us noticing. A must if you like Italian!

What a wonderful restaurant this is! Situated opposite St.John's Castle in Kilkenny so you can't miss it. It is a genuine Italian restaurant, the staff are very friendly and accomodating. We ate there on a Saturday afternoon and by 5.45pm the place was heaving - they do a great Early Bird 2courses €23, 3 courses €26.85. They have also passed on the VAT reduction. So...the food..starters: pate with bread, lobster bisque, antipasta plates, all were very good.Mains: haddock with spinach, irish pork, these were served with italian sauted potatoes and vegetables. Vegetarian rigatoni was very good but sadly no accompanying vegetables. Desserts: Italian ice cream, chocolate mousse, fresh rasberries with a sabayon. Coffee was great also. A must if in Kilkenny!

I came here one evening with my boyfriend for the Early Bird menu. I was a bit disappointed with the atmosphere but the service was quite good. Unfortunately, I found my main course a bit dry - I went for the chicken in a mushroom sauce. I believe it would have been a lot better if there had been more sauce. I had hoped to ask a waiter for more but they always seemed busy. However, my boyfriend loved his main course (pork) and we both enjoyed our desserts. I chose the chocolate mousse and he chose the ice-cream selection. There was a slight misunderstanding about how many scoops of ice-cream and what flavours were on offer but it was all delicious. We both had a glass of wine as well. All in all we had an enjoyable evening, though I will not be rushing back.

A recent trip from Dublin resulted in an experience way beyond our expectations. This authentic family run Italian restaurant with its homemade pastas, fresh mussels and prawns, veal and beef was a fabulous find. Delicious starters and main courses washed down by specially sourced Italian wines, left no room for what I suppose were great desserts too. Had 2 very enjoyable nights there due to the great floor staff and chefs. Will definitely be back.
