It was our anniversary celebration dinner and I appreciated the attention of the staff who made sure to place us in at quiet and a little more isolated table. Our waitress was really nice and answered patiently my questions on the menu. The little amuse (a toast with smoked salmon served with a sample of gaspacho, and a selection of different fresh breads served with butter and spreadable cod and herbs mousse) were a nice and unexpected extra. Our waitress tipped my salmon and gazpacho when serving, without much drama, but I would have appreciated if it had been replaced by a new one... Besides the gazpacho which was really sour, all dishes we had were built with great care and the mix of tastes was cleverly refined and subtle. I appreciated the elegance of each plates and thoroughly enjoyed this meal. I had the scallops as a starter and the seafood as a main. My partner had the chowder and the plaice from the set menu. The price was reasonable, there was a good varied choice. The quality standard overall was quite high and I would recommend this experience to anyone. A little bit of advice, if I may: the fish tank in the entrance needs to be cleaned. The room, the lightening and the tables could do with a little re-agencing to be made more cosy and intimate.

The setting gives a fine dining vibe, white tablecloths etc... An amuse bouche of beetroot with a meatloaf cube was strange! We started with the oysters and shallot vinegar, very good. The scallops were tasty, three beautifully seared scallops with apple. The crab was good, a tabbuoleh was made with quinoa but was moreish. The soft shell crab was deep fried and cold, a pity. It was served with cauliflower purée and pickle, these were delicious. We ordered a small taster of chowder, not what we were expecting, the portion seemed small but was enough, a bowl of cream broth with fried cubes of tuna? and cod floating on top, while it tasted good it wasn't a good interpretation of a chowder! We shared the seafood platter and were initially delighted with what was presented. Oysters, crevettes, langoustines all delicious. The tuna tartar was great, the mackerel tartar was not as nice. The cod mousse was the same that had been served with bread. The disappointment was that many of the mussels had not been debearded and one or two had barnacles attached. The cheese plate was small but good. The server wasn't able to say what the blue was or where the Brie was from. Candied pecan were so tasty! The desert trio was really good, pistachio ice cream, creme brûlée and lemon tart.the peppermint tea was bewleys?! The wine list is good, if a little overpriced, however there is a list of wines priced under €30. The service was prompt but the setting is not relaxed and I was glad to try it but don't think I would come back.

At last a good seafood restaurant in Cork. Very nice, lovely high quality food, staff are very friendly no matter who you are no snobbery. Is lovely for a quite romantic dinner or for a quite but nice family dinner. The food is fantastic and the little tasters you get in between courses are great. Not the cheapest but well worth ever penny.

Firstly, seafood was excellent 5 star, both starter and main course. Dessert (creme brulee) was overcooked and tough. Atmosphere/service was disappointing - restaurant was only half-full however we were escorted to the very back of the restaurant away from main areas, by the fridges for the wine and it was cold. We asked for a heater twice, however nothing was done and frustrating to see empty tables in the main restaurant when we were leaving that we could have sat. Service between courses slow.

Myself and 3 friends enjoyed a lovely evening in Oysters Restaurant. The food and service was excellent. We had a lovely evening and when we asked if it was possible to have a chocolate with the coffee a lovely little box accompanied our coffees and at no charge which was a lovely touch. We will definatly return and highly recommend this restaurant

Very good. Came on a menupages deal - two deals of two courses for two people - and we found that was just enough food for the four of us. The chefs here like layered tastes with lots of contrast - so a deep heavily truffled musroom soup was offset with a sweet granola garnish, a seafood risotto had candied lemon peel in it and so on. Service was a bit hit and miss - they couldn't find out booking to start with, we were handed the wrong menus, they only had three menupages menus for the four of us, they told us we had to present a printed version of the voucher when earlier on the phone they said we could bring the vouchers on the mobile etc... The food arrived on time and there were enough staff to keep a fairly busy room well attended though, Generally though the food was excellent. Second time coming and this is still, for me, one of the top 3 restaurants in Cork.
