Ate here with a group of friends and it was a most enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was great a nice buzz for a mid week night, We had the wine and dine special 50 euro per couple which was great value. I had the garlic prawns for starters and the duck for mains. wine was well chosen and it was exactly what we needed on the night. Location was wonderful, parking outside and a return is definitely on the cards when Im in that area again, Full marks we had a great evening.

Came here with another couple just before Christmas. We went for their special offer, 2 two course meals and a bottle of wine for €50. So for €100 we shared two starters, (best chicken wings in Kildare and the garlic prawns are sooo good), had 4 delicious, way above pub food standard main course's followed by chocolate fudge cake and homemade baileys & chocolate chip cheesecake and two bottles of Pinot Grigio. Wow, fantastic food and there is no where in or around the area offering such good value for the quality of food, wine and service is second to none!

My husband & I had dinner here yesterday evening. I ordered the mozarella & rocket salad to start & the salmon & asian noodle for mains. My husband ordered the nachos to start & the escalope of chicken for mains. My salad starter was just ok but my husbands nachos were really awful. They looked like they had come from a packet of doritos & they were badly burnt at the edges. The cheese was hard & dry like they had been made earlier in the day & just reheated, smothered in sauce & served up again. When our mains arrived unfortunately they were not much better. My asian noodles were dry & hard at the edges again like they had been made earlier & just reheated & the salmon was very dry. My husbands chicken had a similar story. Overall we were very disappoined & will not be returning for food.

Eat here regularly for lunch and we are never disappointed. Recently had the chicken and noodle salad which is available as a starter or main course, lovely flavours and filling enough for lunch. The place was packed and is a relaxing place to spend your lunch hour.

Why in the good Lord's name has this place got such a supposedly good reputation? granted the decor is quite nice for a pub in deepest, darkest Kildare. However, I found the food to be equally underwhelming while being drastically overpriced. In short I wasn't impressed, I'm thinking it's a case of (slightly dated) style over substance.

Based on reviews here, decided to check this place out for myself. First impressions were not the best! How could this pub deliver?? Sitting ourselves down with menus i was very surprised by the price of food (excellent value) I had the stirfry veg and it was cooked to perfection. Others had bangers and mash (enough for 2 on the plate) and penne pasta (enough for 4 on the plate!) All dishes were served promptly and were piping hot. The server was attentive without being intrusive. Didnt have time to try the desserts on this occasion but i'm sure they will be to the same high standard. This place is truly a little gem in this current recession. Total cost for 3 mains and 3 sorft drinks came in at under €50!! WHY GO ANYWHERE ELSE??!

Dropped in for a bite to eat on Tuesday night. There was plenty of choice on the menu & extra specials on also. We ordered a nice bottle of wine while our food was prepared & we weren't disappointed. I had a gourmet burger which was to die for and my friend has cod which was lovely and crispy perfectly cooked. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. My children came in when we were finished our meal & i ordered 2 desserts for them which were cleary adults portions but I was only charged for 2 kids desserts. I'll definatly be back very soon.

My sister in law told me that the Bridgewater was doing a menu on Sundays and that it €20 for two courses or €25 for 4 courses. We decided to go last Sunday week because well basically pay day was following tuesday for hubbie and we'd had a quiet January. Great value, great food and plenty of choice which was surprising. Normally we'd pay €20 for just a main course here. We've started to become more careful with our cash now it's nice to know we have the option of a similar deal on a weekend. Hopefully other places will follow suit.

I eat out alot as I work monday to friday in kildare and go home at weekends. I love this pub. Great pint and probably the best steak to be found in the naas area. I like to go to places that are consistantly good and I must say the Bridgewater never dissapoints.

The food served in the bridgewater is of a far higher standard than that found in your average Irish pub. The reason for this may be a repercussion of the top notch high price food that was served upstairs in the Bridgewater restaurant. The atmosphere tends to be good in the bar, staff are friendly and professional , service is fast and it appears to be very child friendly. Although I eat here often, I usually eat the same thing, the goats cheese wrapped in filo pasty, as there are not many other vegetarian options on the menu. I have brought a few other people to this bar for food and the general opinion is that it is good although a little pricy for bar food. I would recommended.

I recently posted a review on another restaurant which reminded me of what the restaurant upstairs in the Bridgewater used to be like before it closed. It is sadly missed but I had a lovely lunch here a while ago. My friend and I just missed the main lunch menu by about 15 mins so I ordered the soup which was Cream of Mushroom and then an Open Prawn sandwich. The soup was delicious, it was a lovely thick chunky soup with guinness bread. Unfortunately I didn't realise that the prawn sandwich was served on guinness bread also. I had already eaten the bread with the soup and more bread with the prawns seemed a bit too much, so I just pushed the prawns aside and ate them with the salad that came on the plate. The staff are lovely here, friendly and very much on top of their game. Great coffee too.

I just can't fault The Bridgewater for it's good food and service. My husband and I eat here with our family very regularly and we have yet to have a bad experience. We are simple eaters and tend to go for the soup which is usually served with sweet guinness bread . Personally I don't like it, my kids love it but it's not to my taste, and the staff know when I come in to offer me plain bread rolls. The Chicken and fresh Fish are consistenly good also. The staff are so nice and nothing is ever too much trouble. The dining area has always got fresh flower arrangements and the toilets are always spotless. It's something small like this that makes this place special.
