The O'Neill family first brought our commitment to excellence in serving the people of Maynooth as far back as 1912 with the opening of our first butcher shop in Mill Street, Maynooth. Our proud service tradition as quality Victuallers relocated to Main Street, Maynooth in 1958 and continues to this day. While the nature of our business has changed, there has been no change in our dedication to high standards and quality service. Today as we approach our 100th Anniversary, value, friendliness, courtesy and quality are still top of the menu at one of the best pub restaurants in Kildare!

My husband and I visited here with a couple of friends. We wanted somewhere informal and comfortable that serves good food. O'Neills didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was great, with a good buzz, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent and very good value. We will definitely be returning.

I recently had lunch in O'Neill's as part of a large group, but despite it being busy the staff were very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. I opted for the good old-fashioned toasted special with chips. The chips were chunky and everything was well presented. They also do one of the best pints in the locality, and the pub is a family run business. For a student town, O'Neill's attracts a good balance of ages and everyone feels at home. The orange chocolate cheesecake is also amazing. All in all this pub offers quality food and pleasant surroundings.

Had dinner here recently. Its a lovely pub in a great location. Staff are really friendly. Food was delicious. It appeared to be genuinely home-made as opposed to bought in and the portions were more than adequate. It was very busy and yet service was fast. I particularly liked the home-made custard- it was yummy! I would definitely recommend a visit.

Went for a quick bite to eat Sat evening, most things on the menu are dear so we chose based on price, cod & chips 14.50 and burger & chips for husband 13 (or close to that can't remember exact price), the steak on the menu started at 23.95 and for a pub dinner I just think it's too dear. However i was pleasantly surprised with the food, the batter on the fish was so light and the cheaps were proper cheaps and a really really decent salad, not your typical side salad at all.

Have been living in Maynooth now for 18 months and one of the best things about the place is the quality of the pubs. O'Neills is no exception. The food is of great quality (really recommend the steak) and on Friday last myself and my girlfriend had one of the best meals in a long time. OK so its a pub not a restaurant but I really couldn't fault the food here. The service was great and my only complaint about O'Neills (certainly last Friday) is that it can be too cold. When anyone ever comes into the pub there is a sudden chill throughout the place (not because of the type of person that walked in you understand!). Anyway thats a minor complaint, for what is a great pub serving great food. The value is competitive as well although there are cheaper places in Maynooth and the atmosphere can sometimes be lacking (unless there is rugby on) but overall 4/5.

O'Neills is a fantastic homely pub. The bar food is exactly that - excellent value and quality. The atmosphere is great and the staff are some of the best i have met in a long time - so friendly, genuine and welcoming.

Like this pub for its trad atmosphere but recent lunch here wasn't as good as usual. Spaghetti Carbonara was very disappointing (€11). Pasta is such a cheap dish to put together this really should have tasted better - bland sauce with bits of bacon rashers - sorry, but not worth the price. To be fair, my friend enjoyed her "American fried chicken" with a tasty mash and said it was quite filling. Surroundings here are nice and service is generally good, so won't put me off trying again - will just try to choose a better dish!

Had an evening dinner here with one other person. When we arrived the place was fairly busy and a lot of people eating food. We picked our seats and the staff were promptly over to give us a menu. Since we are regular visitors, we knoew what we would most liekly order but the menu has plenty of options for most tastes. We ordered chicken curry which came with a block of white rice and a side order of chips. This was very tasty, plenty of lean chicken bits along with chunky veg (peppers, onion). We also ordered lasange which came with a side salad and chips. The lasange portion looked big but was the perfect size. The only slight critique I owuld have is the lasange was a bit salty and maybe too much cheddar cheese on top. We cleaned our plates and had no complaints. We were given a big jug of water also which makes a change from some places who just give you a small glass of water! The staff are very friendly and returned mid-way throug our meal to check if everything was okay. It was. There were no delays when we went to pay our bill. The value was great..€10.50 for each dish and for top quality pub grub (the best around) too. The atmosphere in the ub is nice, a very local, regulars feel but also very welcoming. The pub itself is beautifully decorated, kept immaculatly clean and a very comfortable place ot be.
