We eat there very regularly, the menu is good and good value but had gone a bit bland it needed changing, Hence not giving it 5 star, The Sea Bass is always fantastic, the menu was changed on the 1st of October 2016, a great improvement but needs more. What makes seasons special ,The atmosphere and service are beyond comparison, it's great value for money thats why Ill keep coming back.

liked the fact it was packed which is a good sign , husband ordered his steak medium but it was rare when he got into middle but wouldnt complain, i felt a little put out as there was not a lot on the menu if you are trying to be healty , didnt opt for dessert others did and was not happy , but overall i would go back and hopefully the menu would have a little bit more, the staff were quite friendly

Ok we were here on a sunday for carvery, so it wouldnt be fair to judge the entire culinary scape on this alone, but as carvery's go, it was below par. very 90's.I know a carvery is a carvery, but a little imagination with the menu wouldnt go a astray, salmon with citrus butter, beef curry(powdered just add water kind), stuffing which was literally only breadcrumbs and dried herbs, stodgy tastless gravy, and the usually staple joints. i worked in hotel's for years, i know it doesnt require much effort to make proper roasties, so as soon as i saw the deep fried boiled potatoes being passed off as roasties, that summed it up for me, i was with a party and wasnt paying, so i suffered through it and said nothing, as i say, a carvery is a carvery, but there was no effort in here at all.

I have been eating there for years and tonight we went to try their new a la carte menu. Normally we would have the Hotel special but seeing as we got a flyer with a discount on it we say we would give it a go. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated immediately and the service was instant. We couldn't fault the service it was great. We felt that the waiter couldn't do enough for us. The menu was varied and great value for money. I had the chicken wings to start, a good generous portion, the duck as my main course and it was perfect. My friend had a 6oz steak and she said it was so tender. Over all the whole night was very enjoyable the service was excellent and very friendly we felt very welcome and the food was just great and brilliant value for money and the portions very generous. They also have a new wine list that is reasonably priced and has plenty of house wines to choose from. Well done Springfield . We will be back and will be recommending you to our friends.

Atmosphere very much varies here, depending on when you visit. Food very consistent. Carvery particularly nice. Prices differ on different days - Sunday more expensive, only by a euro or two, but annoying none the less - other than that good value.

I've been eating here for many years now. For almost every family occassion (my parents even got married here 31years ago) we come to the Springfield. The food is consistently good. It doesn't matter if you're eating in the Restaurant, Function Room, Carvery or Bar Food - it's good quality, honest food throughout! Couldn't fault it. And my latest trip there was no exception.

Back to their best. Dined in The Springfield this evening and it was super. The last visit was sub-par but I'm glad I gave them another chance. A 3 course meal with tea or coffee for €26, how could you go wrong? Everything was great, the breads, soup, seafood cocktail, steaks, sea bass, desserts, all delicious. The waiter was attentive without being overbearing, and I don't believe you could find value for money like it anywhere else locally. Some places would charge €26 for the T-Bone alone. Well worth a visit!

Would agree that it is a local gem. I dined here with my parents for the sunday evening meal. Set menu at 32euro. Personally i wouldnt really be a fan of the meat and two veg variety but i must say the food was delicious - very wholesome. Ordinary food that tastes good. I had the sea bass that was delicious my mum had the beef and my dad had the turkey and ham which he thoroughly enjoyed. Would definately go back as you know u well get a decent feed! service very good also. Nice pub for a drink too.

as usual the standard here is second to none! arrived on a very busy saturday night for dinner without a reservation but the restaurant manager was able to squeeze us in! I love the way all the food is prepared to order so you know its fresh! The banoffi will be the death of me, its so good! Also love the early bird special during the week, its great to drop in and get the best dinner around for €26.

The food in the springfield hotel (that is the Restaurant) is absolutely brilliant. Not only do they cook the food to perfection but the desserts are to die for, in particular the Pavlova. Will definitely go back here again.
