Passed through the area and were looking to book a table on relatively short notice. Phoned ahead and were promised a table for four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) at 8:30pm. Arrived in time and the place was packed, were asked to wait a little standing in an extremely busy bar area and offered nothing. We were finally offered a table at around 9pm and only after several requests to the manager. The table we got was so tiny, we were sitting on top of each other and encroaching on others, definitely not a table for 4. The service was very slow and we had to call the staff for basically everything, menus, drinks order, food order.... The menu looked good but was not cheap, and what eventually (and again after a few queries) arrived was ok, but not worth the prices being charged. A group at the table next to us had a similar disappointing experience of being left waiting for a table and everything else for a long time, while we could see that others, who sat down around the same time were getting main courses while we were still waiting for starters. Even had to go to bar to pay for food, could not get the attention of any waiters. They knocked one round of drinks of the bill for the long wait, but the management did not seem terribly apologetic for our rather disappointing dining experience. We won't be back!

We ate here on the Saturday night of the August bank holiday weekend. While we knew it would be busy what we hadn't appreciated was that quite a few of the tables are placed such that waiting staff have to beat their way through punters at the bar to serve customers dining at those tables. I don't envy them! We had to wait a while for our table as the place was manically busy - fair enough as it was a festival night on a bank holiday weekend. Our table was booked for 9pm and while our starters arrived quickly enough after we ordered the main course didn't come until 10.30pm and the waitress remarked we were the last table to receive our food. Sadly that comment may have led to what followed - we were given dessert menus but 20 minutes later no one had come to take our order and no waiting staff were in sight. I had to push my way to the bar to ask if we could order and dessert did arrive shortly after. On a positive note all the food was really tasty and the menu was hard to choose from. We both appreciated how busy the place was so were not expecting speedy service, but being forgotten about ended our visit on a sour note. Having said that we'd quite happily go back on a less busy night.

Not our first visit. great place to kick back and enjoy a nice pint of Guinness and really good seafood. Prawn and crab Bisque is amazing and tonight's special lobster and crab linguine with a citrus oil, asparagus etc was to die for..... On a normal day by far the best fish and chips in Kerry if not the country. Unfortunately have to wait till next Summer holidays for more!

Without question the best seafood chowder I've ever had! Four of us went for a quick lunch and it was quite empty. Owner served us and, afterwards, gave the full run down on how it was all cooked and where the fish all came from. Three of us had the chowder and one the battered haddock. The haddock man wouldn't shut up about how good it was the whole way back to Dublin! Only little niggly thing was he found a bone in it, but that really isn't the worst thing. The chowder had a chilly diced up through it and large chunks of haddock in it. There is nothing else to say but to repeat the first line. I will definitely be going back the next time I'm down.

Visited QC's Seafood restaurant last weekend while visiting Kerry. It had many Bridgestone awards so we figured the food would be somewhat ok. The place has a lovely atmosphere and is simply and cosily decorated. The prices on the other hand are incredibly high, especially considering it's location and proxmity to the Sea. I ordered a soup to start and the starter portion of Crab claws (EUR15.95) as a main. When mains arrived I was served a small tapas bowl of crab claws. They were cooked beautifully and very tasty. They came with a portion of Veg/Pot's which I queried as I hadn't ordered a Side. I was told that they came with main course portions. I informed the waiter that I'd ordered the starter portion and that's what I'd received. He pointed out that the tapas bowl was in fact the main course portion costing EUR32. I nearly fell off my chair in shock. There must have been about 10 small claws in the bowl. I insisted that I had ordered the Starter portion, upon which the waiter took away my meal to bring to the Kitchen. Over 15 mins later he returned with a small bowl with 4 freshly cooked claws (mad wastage or what!!!) which was apparently were the "Starter Portion". I've eaten in some expensive classy restaurants, but 16EUR for 4 claws in the middle of no where is terifficly steep by any stretch! Hubbie had the squid which was nicely cooked and price was ok. Service was abysmal. The manager was brusque and distracted. The rest of the waiters/waitresses are young and can't manage to do more than one thing at a time. Despite staring over at the bar for 15 mins trying to attract attention we couldn't get them to deliver the bill so I had to go up instead. Same to pay the bill. Suffice to say we will _not_ be heading near this restaurant again. I feel quite sorry for the locals there as this seems to be one of the only restaurants that serves quality food in the area but it's sorely let down by it's staff and ridiculous pricing. Wake up guys!!!
