Attended a wedding here recently and i am glad to report that once again we were not disappointed. The reception was excellent nice mix of drinks available and plenty of staff . Felt sorry for the excellent jazz band who couldnt compete with an Ireland rugby game . The meal was superb taking into consideration that it was a large wedding . Service was top notch and all staff were friendly and very competent . The Proprietors hand was very much in evidence . I had steak which was very good quality and size . Slightly overdone for my taste but thats understandable for a wedding . Sides were lovely and plenty of them we were also offered more mains if required but we were full . Desserts were very well presented and very tasty . All in all a lovely function

I have eaten many times at the Ballygarry attending weddings, sunday lunches and dinners however I had to write about my lunch experience. In a whole experience was excellent, we had vouchers from their spa as we had fabulous treatments and lunch was included. I had a barbequed Salmon salad which was a very large portion but was sublime. My mother had the Thai green curry which she thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert I had the meringue roulade with mixed berries and I lapped it up with gusto and she had a delicious slice of chocolate cake. The Ballygarry is without a doubt has the best hotel food in Tralee and I will be back!

Dines in Brooks restaurant at the Ballygarry House Hotel last night courtesy of a well out of date voucher from our family which was accepted without fuss. The restaurant was not busy and we enjoyed a pre prandial drink in the leebrook bar. Our previous visits to this establishment were for bar food or weddings and we were never disappointed . We were seated at a nice table in an alcove with nice views of the well kept gardens. The staff were most attentive and well informed concerning the menu . I must admit the menu is limited in choice but this was acceptable considering the quality of the dishes . We were given an amous bouche of salmon which was delicious .Ger ordered starter of plaice strips which were served in a lovely batter I have seen less fish as a main in many dublin restautants. I had a spicy chicken which was lovely . for mains we ordered Hake and Duck cooked two ways . Two huge fillets of perfectly cooked fish and the duck was to die for perfectly pink as i asked for and beautifully presented . The accompaniments were also of a very high standard . Desers home made ice cream and a tort apple bavaoise . Both delicious and pretty on the eye. The staff specially Majella were excellent and most attentive but with a lovely friendly manner. We were asked if we wished for any more food during the meal and i felt as if ay request would not have been a problem. Nice too to see the chef in his domain he is from the us and a nice friendly guy. The whole experience was really a pleasure pity there were not more people there

We have eaten at Ballygarry House Hotel many times, in the bar, in the restaurant and this time at a Wedding Reception. We have never been disappointed. The food was excellent, the service fantastic, we were even offered additional meat with our main courses as well as vegetables. I can only agree with all of the earlier reviews giving this venue high marks for everything, one of the best restaurants in the Tralee area. Well worth a visit.

This place truely is a gem... from great service, very friendly staff, very professional... amazing food. I have eaten here a bit and have never been disappointed with anything. Usually eat in the bar, which is better than any restaurant in north kerry! Would highly recommend it.

I have eaten at the restaurant here once before, and it was amazing. I went back last week, and while it was still very good, it wasn't as good as the first time. My starter (brie parcels) was a little undercooked and the fruit reduction served with it wasn't very tasty. My main course was delicious (fillet steak), but the side veg lacked variety. Desert was fair. My main disappointment was that our courses cam way way too close together...we had eaten all 3 courses less than 40 mins after we had ordered. Once our starter plates were cleared, our main course arrived within 5 minutes..it ruined the meal for me. Having said that, the service was very good, and in general it's the best run hotel i have ever been to.

We were away for the weekend and staying in the otel so we decided to eat there too. The layout and decor are absolutely gorgeous, initially they tried to put us at a table in the middle of the corridor, we asked for a different one and we got a table in the bay windo with a view of the landscaped gardens, perfect! The menu was extensive with plenty of choice but I feel it was quite over-priced. We had the Prawns and Brie to start, both cooked to perfection but the portions were a bit on the small side. Mains we both had the fillet steak, again cooked to absolute perfection, couldn't have asked for better and the sides were great too, seasoned vegetables and chips. The dessert was the only let down, again pricey and small but disappointingly not very tasty, Chocolate Fondant Cake. All-in-all the food was gorgeous and I would highly recommend this place, even though it's on the pricey side. The staff were the friendliest around!!!!

My girlfriend took me out for dinner on my birthday and this was truly the place, it was just quite something ells. I know one is not supposed to give info that identify the staff but let me say that its truly the staff that does the trick. When more often dine in Dublin you really feel the change of atmosphere coming to Ballygarry. The dining room was quite big and fully booked indeed but that did not matter, the service was prompt and alert without being intrusive. The fish and meat cooked to perfection and a very nice selection of wines was on offer. Also the pub dining was in a class of its own. Portions were huge and equally well cooked. Please let me continue to celebrate my birthdays in Kerry!

This is a must for your list. I had the pleasure of staying here 2 weeks ago and dined in the restaurant. The food is excellent and cooked to perfection in a really relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was equally impressive - freshly cooked to order and served to the table which is becoming all to rare in most hotels today.
