Big disappointment was the Tiramisu which we were told is homemade. It was terrible, nothing like what a good Tiramisu should be like. It was €13 badly spent.

Our meal was Excellent! We have been traveling all over Ireland for the last 8 days and this by far was our best meal. Great presentation, farm fresh, good portions and reasonably priced.

Great options and wonderful service. Takes a lot for a pescatarian, food allergic eater like me to be pleased in a restaurant. Thanks StoneChat!

I visited Stonechat a few years ago and really loved the place and the food. However my visit to Stonechat on this occasion was disappointing to say the least. While the atmosphere and service were still great, and the main course delicious, I found the portion size and value for money dreadful. My friend and I only ordered main course and dessert as we thought it would be too filling to order a starter as well - BIG mistake ! I don't have a big appetite but the portions of veg and potato were tiny, I would give more to a child, and at a cost of 27 euro for a fillet steak main course which is the usual price in restaurants around here, I expected a lot more. Dessert was also disappointing, I ordered Pavlova (with summer berries) what arrived was meringue, cream, scoop of ice cream with no sign of a berry ! Anyone who loves Pavlova knows that meringue just doesn't compare.

Fantastic. We ate there early in the evening on a busy sat night. WE were not rushed or anything. Food was mouthwatering. I had a steak well done but you would not need a steak knife it was that tender. My friend had the vegatarian option and it just looked glorious. Across the board for the group (4 of us) had fantastic starters, maincourse and desserts were fantastic. would definately go back loads more time and still have loads to choose from. Well worth it for value. Service was attentive but not overpowering. Would highly recomend it.

Our original restaurant choice was closed so we thought we would give Stonechat a try. The place was very busy, which is usually a good sign, and happy to say that the service didn't suffer because of this. We only had main dishes as it was quite late in the evening, lamb, fish and stew were all good and the overall atmosphere excellent. Will certainly return when next in Killarney.

Had a light lunch here. My friend had the stir-fried vegetables with rice which she said was delicious - very light and very nicely flavoured. I chose the Chicken Caesar Salad. This was also very tasty...until I got to the bottom of the bowl where there was a rib of hair. NOT nice. However, the waitress was most apologetic and nice about it and didn't want to charge for the salad. At least she acknowledged the problem!! I will return sometime...

Restaurant response:
We enjoyed good food at Stonechat on our recent visit to Killarney. Lamb, beef and stew were full of flavour, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Service was good too, considering how busy they were. Happy to recommend it to all.

Really nice healthy eats if you don't feel like eating stodgy food. We came here before a big hike. The menu has good healthy choices for veggie and meat eaters. We both got a hummus plate with pita bread and a gorgeous big salad with nuts and loads of veg. Really tasty good food and very friendly staff
