Spent a super evening with friends in this beautiful french restaurant. Everything was perfect the service, delicious food, atmosphere, music (excellent Spanish guitarist), and value for money. It won't be beaten anywhere else in Galway.

Was lucky enough to visit Rouge with some friends during Galway Races week - we had booked well in advance - and had a truly excellent meal. The menu is small, but I can honestly say that everything was delicious. Even after adding a couple of bottles of wine etc, it was very good value. The service was also great and all the staff were very friendly. It was one of the closest experiences I've had in Ireland to the kind of restaurant you'd go to in France. I don't live in Galway, but I will definitely go back to Rouge!

This restaurant beats most restaurants in Galway. I had a voucher to the amount of 70 euro. On arrival the staff were attentive, our table allowed for us to be comfortable, and I like the lighting. the wine list IS EXPENSIVE, but if you are dining out, a bottle of Cotes du Rhone, our choice, was excellent. The steaks, (we both choose) were perfectly cooked. This restaurant, is amazing and I cant wait to dine here in the future. 5 stars.

We ate here on a saturday night in August - a group of 8 girls. Although the restaurant was full, the service was speedy. Rouge has a very short menu - you have a choice of steak, fish of the day or a vegetarian dish and thats it. There is a choice of sides also - fries, potatoes or veg. While its a small selection, what they have they do very well. I had the salmon which was cooked to perfection. There was 2 large pieces on a bed of mash. I was told the steak was also very good and all were cooked to everyone's request. There is a good selection of desserts and we had a few bottles of wine which went down very nicely! At €15 for a starter and main course you can't go wrong eating here! Will definately be back again.

Starter was OK. The Main Course was good although only having one veg is poor. Service was rushed as it always is @ Rouge. I got the feeling they couldn't wait for us to leave so they could cram another party onto our table.

I was recommended to Rouge by a friend. We really enjoyed our visit to Rouge. The food was very good but my husband was disappointed that his steak was not rare as he requested. Flavour was great though. Would definitely go again!

What a gem of a restaurant.......I was put off originally by its lack of choice on the menu, however, it was amazing. The restaurant is on the small side. There were parties of females and a large group of couples, and it still had a romantic feel to it. The amuse bouche on the night was amazing, mediterrian soup, salmon and cream cheese, black olive tapanade and garlic mushrooms. Our steaks superbe, and as my mother in law would say, you don't need teeth to eat those (they were extremely tender). Staff were amazing, always present but subtly so. The chutney served with our Cheese board was to die for. This is a restaurant I will travel to Galway for again and again

Myself and my boyfriend ate here in March on a friend's recommendation and we're very glad we did. The place is excellent. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in to the place is very relaxed and fun while the staff are very attentive and very french. The menu is simple which is great for me because I find it very hard to make decisions! The set starter was an amuse bouche of soup and a selection of other tasty treats. We got the steak and the fish (can't remember what the fish of the day was) which were both yummy. Not massive portions but plenty to fill you up and leave you satisfied. There was a choice of sides too and we got the gratin dauphinois and the ratatouille which were both delish and perfect accompaniment to our meal. Two thumbs up. We'll definitely be back

Four of us went to Rouge restaurant on a Saturday night. I must say it's a while since a restaurant has made such an impression on me. From start to finish it was what i would call ....CLASS!!! Arrived in to be greeted with an expert on French wine...To be honest i love my wine but i decided to let an expert recommend one to me..It doesn't happened too often were there is an expert on hand...I told him we wanted full bodied Red wine... he recommended a wine called BERTHOUMIEN at €30. It seemed a tiny bit steep but the food was very cheep...Wine was amazing!! it was so good that the next day i checked a few shops to see if i could put one on my top shelf :-) ...no such luck...10 out of 10 for the recommendation on the wine. It was a very limited menu but to be honest don't let that put you off. If i seen the menu before hand i may have decided not to go in..the options i can remember are a Vegetarian, Steak or Fish. This came with a set starter. The starter came out...it was amazing ..a soup and a mixture of other bits and pieces on the side including bread with melted cheese... a 9 out 10 for me I ordered the steak...came out on a hot silver plate nicely cut in rows with a sauce on the side...chips and also had what i would call garlic spuds on the side...wow is all i can say!! It was excellent. Friends had fish and the vegetarian options...they also said it was great....definitely another 9 out of 10 At this stage a 3 piece group started to play music. it sounded like spanish guitar music...ok maybe it was French music. It was perfect background music. They were right next to us and up close but still they were not loud....we could still talk away very comfortably. Then to top it all off the desert came out. We ordered a mixture of deserts between us...It came out on a slate and I took a photo to show it off on facebook. The presentation was great but it tasted even better. Coffee was also very nice. Now for the best part...the bill.....it cost us around €125 all in for four of us
