Situated on the Old Bawn Road, this is a fine pub for a pint whether you go into the bar area or the large open space, multi-floored lounge area. The drink is a tad expensive but does not break the bank. Occasionally, they also have live bands playing and promotional nights, which adds to any night out.

Having not visited the Old Mill for some time we decided to give it a go last Sunday and as per my previous review the food is still excellent, we had the carvery of turkey and bacon and it is one of the best carvery dinners around but what let them down badly this time was the lady on the cash desk who totally ignored me standing there with a tray of food waiting to pay while she chatted to a waitress. I paid and commented that my food would need to be reheated at this stage and she just glared at me, we ate our really nice food and left. We would seriously think twice before going back which is a pity because it is one of the nicer places locally, but they need some cashiers that realise that the customers pay their wages.

Ate here last week. Have't been for a while. Delighted to see new menu again. Hubby had steak, (perfectly cooked as ordered) I had the stir-fry, absolutely gorgeous. Dessert to follow topped it all off. Can't believe we've left it so long to come back. Will be back soon.

went here Monday night with my family and mother-in-law who had just flown in from Sydney. Was so disappointed with our food. Had ordered the veg nachos which was like cardboard, the cheese and nachos had congealed and was uneatable. My mother-in-law had the roast beef which had old cold crusty mash and dry veg that look like it had sat under the hat lamps for half the day, my kids shared the chicken nuggets which were fine but the chips were reheats. I also ordered the ribs with so called home made BBQ sauce which was dry and tasteless. Terrible all round but our waitress handled our complaint well but will not be going back!!!!!!!!!

I am a regular to this pub and most of the time the food is good but on this occasion, I was disgusted I ordered the beef and ale pie which I expected to be a pastry style dish, but when it arrived, it was a lump of meat in a sauce..no pastry in sight, and the meat was as tough as old boots and the veg were rock hard. It was €15 for this dish so it was very expensive. I have tried the lasagne in this pub and it's the best around, but for their pies, forget it! Service is slow but I didn't mind as it meant the food was being cooked on order..staff are pleasant. I would come back again but I won't be ordering their pies!

Went here for the Sunday carvery which is a bit on the expensive side compared to its competitors. Service queue moved fairly quickly but had to stand waiting to be served at till as only 1 person on. Had to ask for water but food was fine. Lots of children running amuk. Quite large portions but can opt for half portion though not at half price, more like 3/4. For price alone whould probably not go back as would expect a higher standard of food for cost.

Have to say I love this place, whether its with a large group or in a couple. The food is always superb with large portions (which to some people is a good thing) they wrap it up to take home if you can manage it which is great. Really enjoy the atmosphere in this place and the decor is brilliant well worth a walk around looking at the different features on the walls. Definitely worth a Try it if in the area

Good atmosphere, but this means we got overlooked at times by waiting staff. Very big portions and quite tasty.

Very nice homely cooking, really good value. Got the lasange and was going to order extra garlic bread but the waitress said that the portions were big and she was certainly right, glad she told me.

Service and food can be very variable , i go here often cos its close by for a quick bite when i am too tired to cook. Sometimes the staff seem to think i am invisible, and the food can go from mediocre, to very mediocre, usually overcooked , but somehow also manages to be served at less that optimum temperatures. Carvery food is dreadful unless it happens to be early in service day , so avoid it at all costs It's a greasy spoon , and not somewhere to go for an enjoyable gastronomic experience. Grand if you are going to have a few oints and need some grease to soak it up.

Well worth a visit, dropped in for lunch and will definitely be back. The main lunches are carvery, and my companions had beef, turkey or fish - all claimed they were excellent quality. I didnt want a full diner so went for the baked potatoe with Bolognaise filling - it was so tasty and really good value at 4.95, there was even a small salad with it. I enjoyed every mouthful. There is also a choice of fresh sandwiches and numerous fresh salads. So much for me not wanting to eat much, we then went for desserts. Both the Apple pie and apple crumble were faultless. My homemade Bonnoffi wasnt great, it was tasteless to be honest, apart from the banana, didnt stop me eating it though. The staff couldnt be friendlier and the best of all was that there wasnt the usual loud music thumping that I tend to expect in pubs like this. Overall we really enjoyed our visit.
