The Hungry Bear has been reopened under new management and it seems to be doing quite well. They seem to be trying a new range of lunches like lasagne or baked potatoes. On hot days they give ice creams to everyone sitting outside which is a nice treat! The chicken ceaser salad is amazing and they have nice soups. Today I had a sandwich and vegetable vietnamese soup which was lovely. Prices have come down for loyal customers also.

I go here quite often for lunch. Whether its for a quick lunch to take away or with a group of the girls from work its always been quite good. The food is extremely fresh and the selection of breads, wraps and rolls are lovely. My favourite is the flat iron wrap or madison avenue toasted. They also do lovely soups. Their chicken ceaser salad is divine but wouldnt have it every day! Just as a treat now and again. The staff are very nice too.

Went here for lunch with some friends on Friday. To be honest I was not overly impressed. The food was basic and decent but overpriced. I paid 5 quid for a plain ham sandwich. In saying that though, I have to admit that the fresh bread was amazingly fresh and tasty. The atmosphere left much to be desired and I felt like I was in a freezing cold school canteen. The staff were friendly and were very helpful. Might possibly go here again in the future.

I frequently have lunch here. The food is soooo fresh. The choice of bread for the sambos is fab - you really ahve to try the fresh brown/white batch bread. The choice of fillings are almost limitless. There's a great choice of favourites available of the 'make your own'. These are REAL sandwiches!! The only other thing I've tried is the homemade soups - also highly recommended. This is the best place in this area for a light lunch. Watch out though it's not open on Sat or Sun.
