Went for a family lunch on a Saturday lunch. The atmosphere wasn't great but that could have been because it was empty. I think eating in the pub itself as opposed to the restaurant in the back would have been better. The waitress was very friendly and she immediately brought a pitcher of water to the table, however, one of the glasses had a long glass and we asked for another one which we never got. And we found out the wine list we were given was not the right one when we tried ordering a wine which they no longer had. Other than that, food was ok with very large portions. Restaurant is perfect for a lazy, casual afternoon, but I wouldn't go for any other reason.

Have visited 3 times since it opened in December and have tried bar menu as well as the restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent and good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful with recomendations. The restaurant is a welcome addition to what the pub already has to offer and will continue to be on my shortlist.

Me and the girls went out for a lovely evening to catch up and had a great time at the new restaurant! Attracted by their opening offer of a free bottle of wine, we got more then what we had expected! the food was excellent! I had the fajitas and despite what was said about them from another post, i thought they were lovely! we all agreed we would be back again for the food and great service!! the place was fantastic looking, comfortable and yet quite fancy! well done!

I am well impressed with the new food offerings in the PH I've had bar food & a meal in the restaurant in the last 2 weeks and really enjoyed both meals the pork belly with clonakilty is fab and the sauce is to die for, the bar menu is well above the normal standard and as there was a few of us I got to try a couple of things my favourite were the mini burgers 3 burgers with 3 different toppings the best was the carmelized onions but I loved them all my friends had a chicken wrap & the Pie which were both really nicely presented I found the service really nice and friendly and will definitely be a regular here

Ate in this new Pilgrims Rest a few weeks back, I chose the fajitas..served on a tower, smoked into our faces for about 3 solid minutes so bad we nearly choked & the entire area was thick with smoke no real taste off the chicken - it was as if the spice was cooked off it friend chose the roast chicken & ham, it was more like a not cooked enough deep fried portion it was fine though, large portions, food hot but nothing to write home about unfortunately, waiters very good and attentive but were constantly called off to do things by a senior member of staff, so when you wanted your waiter back you had to wait for them, this got annoying as my chips never arrived and I was waiting ages to prompt the waitor, then the senior staff member sends over a different one. at the end we wanted to give a tip to the chap who was meant to be looking after us as he had done a good job when he was let! When the chips did arrive I was just finished my meal and they were not fresh hand cut chips as advertised, they were horrible skinny frozen chips and they were dripping with grease cos they were'nt cooked properly. The same waiter issue mentioned earlier happened again when I wanted a drink. My friend ordered the steak pie, it was gorgeous but there was not one mushroom in it, again, false advertising on the menu. The sauces came in little plastic pots. this looked tacky for want of a better word. The door near us opened and closed all night with people coming in to go the pub! We knew we were near a door but did'nt think it would be used so much. Although you get plenty of food it's over priced for not very exciting stuff. Hope they improve as they go along.

myself and my partner went to the restaurant for valentines day and got the valentines set menu which was only €30 for 4 courses! the food was amazing and our night out was great thanks to the friendly waitress we had. she realy couldnt do enough for us. when we were finished we were able to move into the bar area and have a few drinks and a bit of craic with the band that was on. we had such a good night that we went back with the kids for their carvery the next day!
