I brought my parents for lunch there on Thursday. The waitress was almost annoyed as we gave our order. My mother said 'great we're ready to order' as she approached the table and she replied 'that's why I'm here' and never spoke or acknowledged our order as she walked away. The food arrived. I ordered the the ceasar wrap with side salad. The salad was brown and wet. I politely ask for a fresh salad and showed her all the brown and wilted salad. The second salad came out in a bowl full of dressing on top. I poured it into my plate only to reveal the same wilted salad. nI decided to leave it as I knew I wasn't going to get fresh leaves. When the waitress returned to take my plate I said that the second salad wasn't great either and she looked past me and laughed. My mother paid the full bill and the waitress didn't even say thanks as she handed her the money. I haven't seen a more ignorant waitress in a long time. I will not be back or recommend it to any of my friends. If you can't get a salad right I'd question how fresh the food is.

First time here, Steak on the stone was so tender and melted in your mouth. I got steak on the stone before somewhere else but this was so much better. The goat cheese starter is more-ish. Good atmophere, nice smoking area, friendly staff. Cocktails are lovely. I would come here again.

First time convince to have group dinner at the gastro pub! can't believe the services and food quality are at A1. Very friendly environment, suitable for team gathering.

I go here regularly for dinner mid-week mainly for the steak on the stone offer (17.99 mon-weds or 19.99 on Thurs with a glass of wine). The fillet steak never disappoints. I've had their cheese and meat board for starters which is nice but I have never ventured away from the steak for main. The deserts are always amazing especially their cheese cakes. My only complaint is that they could do with changing the Sauvignon blanc wine as its not great......

2nd Review for this gastropub. Visited here on Thursday night (payday!!). Was a bit apprehensive as last time was abit of a disaster. This time however much better..service was good, food was good, nothing spectacular, but good gastropub fayre. Value was quite good at €20 for a steak on a stone and a pint of guinness! I chose the fillet option and this was ok..sirloin may have been a better option. A little bit pushy on the drinks but it is a bar so to be expected. A bit of slip on the bill at the ned when tried to charge me for the free pint! but was quickly sorted..no hard feelings : ). A big improvement on last time and will be back again...

I went with 5 friends and while the food was nice, the service was a disaster. We were waiting ages for our food and when it eventually arrived, it was our main courses - they'd totally forgotten our starters! It was busy, but one of our friends then didn't get any of her accompanying dishes to her mains and when we stoped someone to ask, she said "This isn't my table" and we had to ask her to get the waitress who was. Still no sign, so eventually we went to the bar and my friend finally got her veg and fries. When it came to paying, it appeared that the waitress we'd had was on a break or finished (we never saw her after she delivered our mains) and we were being charged for the whole bill, despite not having received any starters. The waitress didn't seem to believe us, so we had enough and asked for the manager. Another girl came over and went off (presumably to check with the kitchen) and then came back to said she'd take them off so we weren't charged for the starters, but no apology was forthcoming etc. A lot of work needs to go into staff training.

Very popular with the locals but expect to wait for your food on weekend nights. The wait could be up to an hour. We found the staff very nice and pleasant to us. The food when it did come was fresh, and very tasty. It's pub grub at the end of the day so keeping that in mind I would recommend a visit.

Come in often enough - Food is nice but staff are very scatty and all over the place. You can recognise when the boss man is there the staff are working-when unsupervised it is a mess. But food nice and good atmosphere - just need staff to be on the ball....

I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere in Carrolls. I had the calamari which was excellent, crispy and fresh. I then had fillet steak and I was very happy with it, perfectly cooked and came with great home made chips and creamy pepper sauce. I will definitely be going back to Carrolls again.

For such a short menu I was sure I would be impressed - not the case !! Friend ordered steak on stone without fries & salad instead, she got a woody / bristly garnish along side steak. My Thai curry was edible but very processed, not at all fresh tasting as I'd hoped & deserts were not good either. The warm chocolate brownie with ice cream arrived a cold sponge with no ice cream - choc chip cookie soggy & not crunchy !! Decaf coffee was instant from a jar ; no thanks !! Very disappointed. Lucan is crying out for a good eatery, I really had hoped they would nail it !!!
