This latest branch of the highly regarded Jaipur chain of Indian restaurants is a real asset to Ongar Village – conveniently located in the centre of the new village, it’s well worth seeking out as it has set the culinary benchmark for the area. Like its sister restaurants – the interior is stylish and cosy, with an open dining area decorated sparingly with modern images of India, and atmospheric instrumental music playing quietly.

Their friendly staff provide a prompt welcome and offer enticing menus of traditional Indian fare alongside dishes with a more unusual twist. Unusually for an Indian restaurant, desserts are a delight, especially the house variations on kulfi (Indian ice cream). Renowned for their attention to detail is evident in a wine list that is carefully matched to Indian food – and the King Cobra Indian lager is an interesting option for the indecisive.

I have been to Japur Ongar several times because I live in Meath and it's so close with free convenient parking. Most recently, four of us dined at Jaipur and we all enjoyed the experience. Their service is attentive and friendly. The quality of food is always fresh, flavourful and consistent. At €19.95, the Early Bird is tremendous value with a starter, main, naan and rice. Hats off to the Jaipur team!

I have dined here many times as I live 10 minutes away. On a recent visit, four of us dined at Jaipur for a farewell for a friend. The service and quality of food is always consistent. The staff are attentive, the food is fresh, flavorful and fairly priced. The early bird menu is spectacular - for €19.95 I enjoyed a starter, main, naan and pilau rice. I challenge anyone to find better Indian food in Dublin.

Great to have the Jaipur quality at local level. Had a fantastic meal (again) and noticed a real difference (for the better) in food, service and atmosphere. They have also introduced a fantastic new pick-up and drop-off service. Keep up the great work.

I have been to this restaurant countless times and have yet to be disappointed. The quality of the food is superb and the service is great. We always feel well looked after by the staff and receive a friendly welcome on each visit. The early bird menu is great value for €24.95 for 3 courses and a glass of wine. There is also a 3 course menu excluding wine for €19.95. The only downside is the desert with this menu is the kulfi icecream which I isn't really to my taste but does not detract from my satisfaction from the taste and flavours of the food on every occassion we go.

4 of us went to have the early bird here. The starters were delicious and very authentic. The main courses were very disappointing however. I had chicken tika masala and it appeared that they hadn’t marinated the chicken before. It was tough and tasteless. The sauce was runny and unexciting. I’ve eaten here before and liked it. Perhaps they have changed their chef. I definitely won’t return unless I hear things have improved.

Absolutely fantastic Indian food. Have eaten here several times and have never been let down. Have tried nearly every starter on the menu and all are delicious - the prawn one in particular is divine. The food always tastes fresh and is full of flavour. Main courses are also cooked to a very high standard. Service is also excellent but atmosphere is sometimes lacking during the week as the restaurant can be empty. This shouldn't be the case and I would encourage people to go - you will not be disappointed!

The wife and I went to Jaipur last Friday for the first time. Knowing that the chain has an association with a famous Michelin starred Indian chef boosted our expectations and we weren’t disappointed. Excellent! This is an absolute gem of a restaurant right on our doorstep. Most noted was the attention to detail in blending herbs and spices together with Irish produce to create deeply complex, delicate and rewarding flavours. I had the mixed grill platter to start. The wife had the samosas. Both were a triumph. Mains were a lamb shank cooked with a melange of Indian spices which fell off the bone and delivered on flavour. This dish brought back memories of fine dining experiences I’ve had in great Indian restaurants in the Middle East and Africa. The wife’s biryani, (which I finished off), was the best I’ve had to date. We both noted the lightness of all the dishes, specifically the absence of fatty oil or ghee which is common in Indian cooking of lesser quality. Throughout the evening the restaurant was a buzz with activity which was great to see in these times of recession. While we opted for Cobra beer we noted that most tables were drinking wine. Throughout the evening service was excellent, all under the watchful eye the maitre’d, a jolly and attentive fellow from Kerala, who really went out of his way to make us comfortable. All-in-all it was a great night out, a great experience. Best of all it was the short walk home, (there’s plenty of parking, however, if you’re driving). This is not your run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant. This is Indian fine dining on your doorstep.

Myself and Hubbie were here on Sat. night for 8.30. It was very busy so created a good atmosphere. We've been here lots and never disappointed with food or service but its better atmoshere when busy. They have changed the menu again recently and the fish starter was devine and I was having difficulty deciding on main but the manager recommended a chicken dish which I'd never order when I'm out but I was well pleased with juicy, flavoursome chicken done in a spinach and spiced sauce. Vegetarians have plenty options here and the menu is far more interesting than your normal indian menu- sides included.Hubbie went for the starter platter to get a bit of variety and loves this. Also fish curry was a success. This is a fantastic restaurant to have on our doorstep and we will continue to visit.

Visited here over the Xmas period! Apart from being completely empty (we were the only table there), the food was very nice... As a family friend of the Jaipur group we were treated to a very generous meal which the made the evening an enjoyable one!!! However don't know if ill be back to this Jaipur (reason is for atmosphere only) but we will be back to the rest of the Jaipur restaurants again!!

Mouth watering flavours and portions a plenty. And as a coeliac they always cater for my needs. Would have no problem recommending to anyone!

Took my wife and two children (6 and 4) on a Friday evening. We all like Indian food but rarely eat out with the children, and we loved the Jaipur Restaurant. The restaurant is well laid out, but quite poorly lit (I was in the dark while my daughter was in a spotlight). Also the chairs scraped on the floor, which when a party arrived/left was quite loud! However, these are the only negative comments - the waiter was friendly, courteous and helpful (if a little hard to understand), and the food was fabulous. The menu offered a great range and it was refreshing not to see a standard korma, madras or vindaloo in sight (they still prepared a korma for my children though!) We will definitely eat there again and would absolutely recommend it.
