got tired of waiting for our food. my favourite started was off the menu (egg mayo) anyway i didnt mind too much. i dont think ill be rushing back as its way too expensive. my main dish (chicken maryland) used to be a fresh chicken breast, now its just a flat crumbed ready bought load of rubbish. very disapointed. think ill give joels a miss for a long time.

My husband daughter & I visited Joels on 10/01/2016 to use a voucher which we had been given by a regular user of the Restaurant. However having arrived at 6.05 and seated at 6.40 when our orders were taken our starters were not served until 7.30. We were told an error with the electronic ordering service was at fault. Despite the waiter alerting us to this fact out main course was not served 7.55.The food was not hot and was only passable. The Manager apologised and informed us that the meal would be complimentary. However as we left the car park we were stopped by the waiter who served us to inform us that we had not paid for our meal which was embarrassing for us. In all we had a very bad experience in Joels and will not be going back even to use our voucher.

Great for family events. Very child friendly also. Unfortunately the food is not great in my opinion.

We went to Joels for a family outing and found that Joel's is extremely family friendly and the staff were very accommodating. They supply crayons and pictures for children to colour, a great children's menu. Some of us had a special three course lunch menu which was great value at 21.50e and the food was of great quality. I would definitely recommend Joels for any occasion.

I have mixed feelings about Joels! The décor is crying out for an update and the menu is far too big.. you can't possibly do everything on your menu well when you're serving so many different cuisines. However, I had one of the best fillet steaks I've ever eaten on a recent visit! It came with two sauces and a choice of potatoes or chips (although they don't do baked potatoes in summer which I thought was odd!). My boyfriend had chorizo pasta which wasn't great, sauce was nice but pasta was overcooked and mushy. We were with a group and most were happy with their meal. Staff were lovely and service was good. We were a bit miffed that we weren't allowed to cut the birthday cake we brought, we would have been happy to pay a service fee to cut it, and no one at the table had dessert anyway so it wasn't like the restaurant would have been out of pocket by letting us cut our cake!

My family and I would eat in Joels regularly but after our experience on the 31st May I would probably avoid going there. We arrived at 3.30pm and waited 40 mins for a table. My daughter was heavily pregnant also had her son with her who is 4 years old. After the wait we were shown to our table. My daughter ordered steak and was told there would be a 'waiting' time for her order. After 30 mins we still hadn't got our food so I called the waitress. then eventually after a further 10 mins we were finally served. The manager did come over and apologise offering two free desserts but the entire experience was ruined. Very disappointed customer :-(

I used to love Joels but after tonight I will never be back. The manager was so unpleasant, we requested a booth as its easier with the kids and when this manger tried to seat us at a small table I mentioned to her about the request and all she could muster was "well, you'll have to wait", no smile.... no aplolgy.... just ignorant reply. The service tonight was also shocking, we asked for the desert menu and then waited 15 minutes for another visit from the waitress, although to be fair what should I have expected. I spent €104 tonight..... Never again.

Joel's is an ideal family restaurant. Its also suitable for couples too. Food was really nice, I got Prawns in chili & Garlic. They are delicious. I thought the upholstery was a bit shabby, could do with a face lift. But other than that you cant really fault them. They also have a benefit card that you can get a discount with. Overall a really nice place to eat

We booked for 6 o'clock but were left waiting for a table, even when we were seated we were left waiting again and food eventually arrived at 7.30. This is not good enough. There were plenty of empty tables so no excuse Food was nice and plentiful but by the time the food arrived we were not in a very good mood. We would have got up and gone elsewhere but as we were celebrating a confirmation, it was too late at that stage to start looking for somewhere else to eat especially when there are children. This restaurant used to be a favourite of ours but not any more

I've eaten here a few times in the last couple of years and have never really been impressed but there seems to have been a massive turnaround! The place was packed as usual, not just because it was mother's day and although we had booked a table we were waiting around half an hour. The staff were consistently attentive and helpful, couldn't praise them enough! I had a caesar salad to start, which was nice but didn't taste the freshest - would eat again though as it was good. I chose lasagne for my main with a side of chips, HUGE portion, not a hope of me finishing it all. It was cooked extremely well, very hot on arrival. Would really recommend if you like lasagne. Finished off with a brownie which was simply delicious, just a pity I was so full from the large portions but that's not a bad complaint - great value! I was really pleased with the quality of food and service here after not being too keen on my last couple of visits. Location is a little awkward but fine if you have a car. Very family oriented restaurant, lots of kids always around which does make for a loud atmosphere but as it's quite a large venue this isn't a real issue.

Have been here many times over the years and have to say the consistency is second to none!!! We were a party of four, seated quickly and were served by a very attentive waiter. We went straight for mains and everything arrived quite quickly and was pipping hot (even though they had large Christmas groups in). Always a pleasure to eat here.
