Brilliant spot for Sunday lunch, with music, ambience and great food. The fish and chips is heaven. The welcoming service from staff and the Manager is what makes me go back regularly.

Beautiful day and had lunch outside in the sunshine, seafood salad is delicious with a wonderful variety of fish, my friends both had the crab claws and they are finger licking good - overall great dining experience once again.

Was so looking forward to lunch in Anglers Rest after a 1.5 hour drive. Arrived around 2 on Saturday and both ordered fish pie only to be told there was none. I asked for calamari and was told it was only available on Sunday's.... We ordered fish and chips and asked for the batter to be crispy and it didn't come out that way. Standards have definitely slipped since I was last there. nnDisappointing selection of foods and it's not good enough that the main dishes you would expect of Wrights were not available. nnUnderwhelming and expensive for the experience

Started with a guinness and some ardsallagh goats cheese with pickled beetroot which was very nicely presently and tasty, with some crunchy bread. Following on I had the hake with berlotti beans, pickled onions and a fantastic cream sauce. Party of 5 and we were all very happy. Steaks hit the mark ! Food is great here and I hope they continue to keep it up as I will be back !

Great atmosphere in the Anglers Rest - love the wooden floors and lovely Kitcheny vibe. Had the Seafood Salad which was amazing and really tasty - also very healthy option, no carbs. Plus the Cappuccinos at the Anglers rest are the best I have ever tasted. No need for dessert if you are having a cappuccino - really creamy and very filling. If only the mug was bigger!! - Good size but I'd drink twice that its so nice!

Lovely warm restaurant. Love the open fires. We were a party of 8. We were looked after very well. I shared the seafood platter, it was absolutly delicious. Everybody enjoyed their meals. Nice big portions & a lovely atmosphere.

Have been here over many years ots of times for a drink or dinner, day or night and love it . Always an oasis of calm despite the many diners, Beautiful authenticity in decor. Atmosphere so homely & natural. Log fires ,wood burning outdoor firepit , traditional understated musicians good food all hard to beat. Downside for me is the lack of choice for vegetarians. Particularly on this occasion as I asked would the chef do basic veggie pasta & was very disappointed to be informed there was only had macaroni pasta (which I dislike).Do restaurants not stock several pasta types in the cupboard? Also was puzzled about this as a child nearby had spaghetti?? In fairness this request was no problem on a previous visit when I got a delicious vegetable pasta so was looking forward to the same again on latest visit so this added to the disappointment. Please give us veggies at least one alternative ( but not SALAD!)! Hungry Veggie!

I used to like this place however since few months we can clearly see that the business took a new direction (new staff and new menu). The staff quality is clearly below what it used to be. This restaurant had a perfect service, now it's below standard. The food was unfortunately below average, and could clearly see the cost saving mind. Steak (frozen and bad quality), duck pate was nice and tasty, now it looks straight from the can.

Hi, I always enjoy the Angler's Rest. On this occasion I found the restaurant very noisy. People were not listening to the nice music being played. The food was very good, my friend and I both had the cod with bacon. Service could have been better, the waiters seemed a bit all over the place. It can be a bit pricey also.

Had dinner here with the family. Sorry to say it was a let down. I had a Striploin steak. I asked for it well done but it was rare. Pepper sauce was just like gravy. My wife had the chicken supreme and said it was bland. Her portion was tiny, it wasn't even served with vegetables. When we told the waiter he told us that a lot of customers had complained over the last few weeks! They obviously haven't listened to what the customer are saying. Safe to say we won't be back.

Lovely venue with lovely food but service questionable. Waiters not very attentive but very quick to clear table. Needs a few waitresses!
