We’re a new café at the heart of Castleknock, in the Phoenix Park Racecourse. Local husband and wife owners Stephen and Jenny Connolly (both health conscious) had a dream to open a café producing food that tastes great but without the bad ingredients!.
As a design team in our company InArc Design, we designed a couple of restaurants and cafes and gained an interest & knowledge of how they work. Jenny then took her interests further and studied nutrition before developing the menu for The Lo-cal Kitchen.
Together we hired a team to help develop their dream and here it is!
WELCOME TO THE LO-CAL KITCHEN!
Our dishes are low in calories and filled with nutrients to help you to maintain a strong, fit body and mind. All our products are Irish and Organic where possible. Our menu and specials are constantly evolving & changing so bear with us! Please let us know what you think of the place, speak to the team, we’re all very friendly and all too willing to help wherever we can. We want to hear the bad stuff as well as the good!

What a rip off!!!i know there's healthy eating but I also know when I am being totally ripped off!!2 tiny wholemeal pancakes for my 4 year old cost me €3.95!!this price cannot be justified, whether it's wholemeal or even if it was gluten free or dairy free etc.As a coeliac i make GF pancakes often and the cost is only slightly more than regular pancakes.approached the owner with my complaint, where she just walked away from me as I was speaking,no professionalism shown whatsoever.my advice, don't eat here.way overpriced for the tiny portion you get.i won't be returning.

I decided to eat a late lunch here this Saturday. We arrived at around 4:00 but had to wait for a table for 15 mins, not that that is a problem. The problem was we had to wait 30 mins after we ordered for our food. It was pushing 4:50 at this stage and we just want a quick bite. The food here is nice though but it's a bit pricy but it very good quality so you get what you pay for. Even though it can be quite bland - but that's healthy eating for you.I had a chicken fillet burger but was still hungry afterwards and it cost my 10:95 euro for a burger and leaves. The also got my wife's dish wrong but she said nothing and just ate it.
